Re: Hydroseed and overseed Advice

Next time use the new Scott starter with weed preventer. Depending on how old your new lawn is and temperatures you should be able to use weed b Gon plus crabgrass preventer. The label will specify how old the new grass needs to be.

Re: Sprayer Wand

You should be able to get 15psi if it is pressurizing. Have you tried it without the CF valve. I think DFW updated the wand parts.

Any reason to opt for 2.5 instead of 3? Money or overcrowding or something else?
Too much leads to overcrowding. Overcrowding leads to fungus next year. Remember that kbg spreads.

Re: Help with sprinkler placement (and intro)

I think ken-n-nancy did an excellent job in their layout. It matches what I had in mind when I recommend the 19ft spacing. A few things to add. I would place the valve box in the top right side near the house. This keeps it out if the way. If you are really concentrate with the electrical box affect...

^ the picture is not really useless. The blade has the word "Grass side" stamped on them.

Is the blade sharp? Most new blades are stamped processed and not sharpened.

Re: Help with sprinkler placement (and intro)

You want to supply ~45 psi to each head. I think those are hunter rotors, so it would benefit from a regulated head at 40PSI (you could buy a 30 or 40 head). The heads (tries to) limits the pressure to avoid going above 40 PSI (Hunter PRS40). https://www.hunterindustries.com/irrigation-product/spray...

Re: Help with sprinkler placement (and intro)

I have 3/4 pex to the meter and to the house. I read about the 10ft/s and tried it an open pipe with a ball valve. I did not like the hammer due to the speed. In further research I did, the Pex internal walls are smooth and wear should not be a concern with 10ft/s but the fittings are a different st...

Re: Received soil test. Need P,k

I live in Augusta ga, what's the best way to add P,k for my lawn. I have burmuda grass. Here is the soil results Sorry for the distraction, lets get back to your question Based on the analysis, the soil needs P and K. They recommend for the first year to apply 10-10-10. 10-10-10 is 10% of N, P and ...

Re: Help with sprinkler placement (and intro)

This is a tough layout. The area called not irrigated, is it mulch and it could get wet? So they only way I see doing this right is with 19ft spacing between the heads. This way you cover the width of the area. The problem is the 30ft depth. Since the heads are at 19, then you will end up watering t...

Re: How much water for Kentucky Blue Grass in Northern New Jersey

The gpm are spread over the coverage area of your nozzles. The p5r+ are impact heads and they will take forever to get an inch, so yes 4hrs. Quicker, yes. How much you want to spend? In ground irrigation would be the easiest, but cost is a factor. If you want you could buy a hunter pgp head and moun...

No it won't be affected. For your zone mid August is the best time to grow seeds. This gives it enough time to develop roots before winter.

I wish we could use the PM feature to discuss your post. It was my assumption that it was frown upon for non ST6 members to provide help in soil interpretations. It could be confusing to a new member that has no clue of what ST6 is if they see a pinned post from an administrator saying one thing and...

Re: Received soil test. Need P,k

I wouldn't go that far. I think the accurate answer is that the group of volunteer members calling themselves soil team six limits their advice to Logan labs soil tests. Other members are free to help others as they see fit. But each member sets the limits on their own level of participation. If yo...

Re: Tank Mix Propiconazole / Tenacity - Also observations from Biofungicide Applications

^you are not going to get much answers. This is the similar question you asked before. Read the product label. You have a very small yard (2500sqft?). Why the desire to mix stuff? Give up on serenade again? Why keep using it if you are also applying fungicide? You want a blanket spray a fungicide an...

Re: Mixing WBG Max and WBG CG Killer

^ look at the white stuff coming out of the cap. I would not use that on my lawn. It will be a guess of the actual concentration of the stuff inside.

A bottle of WBG plus crabgrass concentrate is ~$10 at Lowe's/home Depot/ect.

Re: What can I mix Quinolac (QuinKill Max) for general broadleaf removal.

I would not use a dial hose attachment to anything that could kill my lawn if the ratio is wrong. Basically, you want a calibrated system. That means that you will be able to be sure that Xoz of the product with Y gallons of water are applied to Z sqft area. A dial hose could pull too much from the ...

What do you think of this stuff: Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide. Appears to be more economical. I have a 1 gallon sprayer. http://store.doyourownpestcontrol.com/q-4-turf-herbicide Same 4 active ingredients, so it should do what you want. I'm not sure if it will be cheaper than the locally bought concentrat...
