Re: 71GTO 2024 soil test
Thank you, back to the ocean gro plan... I'll keep looking. Should I try to stick with organic fertilizers?

71GTO 2024 soil test
I'm starting up year eight, I have about 13k of Nomix lawn. This year I did one test on the front back and the dead zone corner that I have referenced and tested separately in past years. As my regular fertilizer regiment I use Ocean gro. I just can't beat the price when I buy it on sale in April, b...

Thank you! I’ve been using ocean grow as my basic fertilizer the last few years. Is that ok?

Re: 71 GTO Soil Test 2023
Thank you! So do I not need to add any source of nitrogen this year? I can definitely add some compost out in that corner. It is actually doing better I now have a lot of winter weeds growing in the deadline now. I will try to seed it in the fall. I need to do a little leveling there.

71 GTO Soil Test 2023
I'm starting up year seven, I have about 13k of Nomix lawn. It's still hard to find potassium especially later in the season. I guess i'll have to suck it up and buy enough for the season in the spring when I see it online and not just talk about doing it like last year, lol, but I got some down. I'...

Re: 71GTO 2022 soil test
Thank you Morpheus. I think I can manage this. Hopefully I can find some dolomitic lime. I do buy the dr soil lime for my fig trees. Dolomitic is preferred, but usually the box stores have calcitic.

71GTO 2022 soil test
I'm starting up year six, I have about 13k of Nomix lawn. Last year, was the same as before it was tough to get potassium and follow all the recommendations, but I got some down. I'm guessing I'll need it again and I should just buy as mush as I can when its available... Also, in regard to my soil t...

Re: Crepe Myrtle Pruning
Thanks guys. My neighbor planted the same tree maybe 2 seasons ago. It came from nursery the same basic shape as mine, so I think that's generally how they look. I'll just keep on doing what I normally do and keep the same shape, but trim it back and maybe thin a little. It just usually when I see p...

Crepe Myrtle Pruning
I've looked around a bit and most of the Crepe myrtle pruning tips Ive found seem to have a tree thats been trained differently or maybe a different variety... Can anyone give me some tips on shaping this tree up? Since we've been here I just kind of trim back the trim back all the thin branches and...

Re: TTF, KBG and fine fescue
Thank you, I was kind of hoping to avoid killing the whole lawn or large areas, but that is probably what i'll have to do if I want a more consistent lawn. Its definitely a hundred times better then it was when we moved in, but I guess I would call the texture is off in the front yard most noticeabl...

TTF, KBG and fine fescue
So, my lawn has vastly improved since I found this forum, started testing the soil and following the program, especially the last two summers since I've been home watering more. When we purchased our house the lawn was neglected big time and very shaded by mostly pine trees. I had a lot of bare area...

Re: Weed battle and now POA Triv
Thanks guys, I am going to try to try the Morpheus method for now, I have all the stuff already, I guess even if it just keeps it at bay this season while I try to fix the other issues that should work.

Weed battle and now POA Triv
When I found this forum a few years ago I had mostly dirt as a result of removing over a dozen trees and some crappy grass. I have beaten back crab crass, Nimblewill, Japanese Stilt grass, along with all the other common weeds and weird grasses that just won't go away. Now it looks like I have Poa T...

Re: Lime green patches
So I've found, anyway, but other people make differing claims. It turns white and scared, and dies on me in one or two sprays. I get great control on P. annua and P. trivialis. But others don't seem to be able to replicate my results consistently. Some yes, some no. The softest water seems to be pa...
