Tenacity Math

Hello, I recently calibrated my battery powered sprayer, a Sprayers Plus 105EX. At my walking pace, I spray 0.5 gallons per 1,000 ft sq. I have a mix of 50% perennial rye and 50% KBG. I live in SW WI. I’m overseeding in a week or two with the same mix. I’m planning on applying tenacity at five fluid...

Re: Weed ID Help

Try Virginia copperleaf ( Acalypha virginica ), a.k.a. Virginia Three-Seed-Mercury. I dont' see any maps with it in MN, but I'm quite familiar with it. It's everywhere here. Coincidentally, I had to refresh my memory of its name this morning while on the phone with my brother. There are other coppe...

Hi everyone, I'm trying to identify this weed in my lawn and landscape beds. So far I'm not having any luck. Any idea what this is? Location is Minneapolis

Re: Twin Citians ... get ready for first frost

Well, I haven't seen much in the way of growth where I'm at (St. Louis Park), so I went ahead and put down 1#/k of nitrogen along with my monthly 1#/k of potash. Where are the rest of you at in terms of your fall regimen?

Re: Mike's 2016 soil test!

Do you mean 2 lbs/K of actual potash on the ground, or 2 lbs/K of 0-0-50 on the ground?

Re: Help to recover winter damage

Personally, I have some winter damage, but I didn't feel like fixing it, so I just went ahead with my schedule of pre-emergent, and I'll go ahead with my first dose of milorganite over the memorial day weekend. I'm just going to wait things out and see how the grass fills in. If some areas end up ne...

I went ahead and applied this week. Our optimum day was actually yesterday. I watered it in, and we have rain forecast this weekend, so things are lining up nicely. This spring has been very strange...

Re: Mike's 2016 soil test!

MIke, That's a nice soil that's going to be a GREAT soil with some work. :good: The OM level is REALLY FANTASTIC. :yahoo: Regardless, mulch mow those leaves and mulch the grass up (unless fighting fungus!) The TEC indicates you have a heavy loam soil, which is fine - it means you're not going to le...

Re: Last N App in Minneapolis

I'm in Madison and haven't done mine yet although it's a great time as we've been having regular frost the last few days and it appears that growth has finally stopped. Just waiting for rainfall to time it which of course now is nowhere in site after we've had a very wet fall. Oh well. I've been ou...

Re: Difficulty Locating Urea Fertilizer in MN

Can I piggy back on this thread for a moment to know when the MN contingent are planning to drop or did drop the last N application. I dont have time to find the quick release Urea this year so ended up getting the Winterizer for Menards Also can I still spray for weeds yet? I thought I read 10 day...

Re: Box elder bugs everywhere! Suspend pesticide?

I've had great luck spraying our foundation every quarter with bifenthrin. Generally speaking, we have no issues with any bugs in/on our house.
