Can you guys help me out with a quick question? Having an argument with a friend about oak leaves. Do they make the soil acidic when they're mulched and put back on the lawn?

I get tons of weeds in the winter down here. More than in the summer.

We're still in the mid 80's during the day. About the only thing I've noticed is that I can go a little longer between mowings.

Took out another privet/ligustrum yesterday. As you can see it's a pretty substantial root ball. The trick is using that post hole digger. You just have to get to the roots. Mine were 15' tall but I still got them out. Each one probably had 5 major roots that were 1-2" in diameter and then a bunch of smaller roots. Seems to be doing fine so far. Zoysia loves the water apparently. Think I'll just continue with the same plan. Might spray the st augustine with a fungicide.
