Re: BSFertilizer and other fertz

Well they really only sell locally and outside of buying it directly at the MWRA I’ve seen it sold through some very local Ace Hardware stores but there isn’t a wide distribution at all.

If you wanna drive then sure but Illinois probably disqualifies you a bit :)

Re: BSFertilizer and other fertz

Didn’t know that but I buy a pallet at a time anyway. I’ll be looking for an application window next week as I start to wake the lawn up. We need rain up my way and now it looks like this storm is going to miss us....sigh

Re: Bonehead move

Sorry to hear that! I’m also in the camp of specific sprayers for those rather unfriendly type sprays.

With all the spraying we do, a mistake like this is bound to happen. Chin up!

Re: Does Dishwashing Soap Condition Soil?

For $40 you can get 5lb of SLS on makeyourown.buzz and make blsc to last you a few good years! I just got down my second treatment last night, waiting for TS Fay to drop some liquid gold for me.

Re: I got a visit from the County Water Department

That’s a good bit of usage! They are actively fining people in our area if they are not following rules. I get a slow down every time the water department drives by. I wave :)

Re: Summer Fertilizer

I’m planning to do cracked corn. I saw better results with the shredded fall leaves decomposing faster last year after I did a summer application of CC.

Re: Summer Fertilizer

I think if you wanna do it you should look at organics. Alfalfa, milo (or local equivalent) etc.

Re: 2020: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?

Looks great KNN!

We’ve got 5+ inches over the past 5 days. Not complaining but the heat is still here. Disease cocktail. Cut today and put down serenade at the 4oz per gallon rate and some KH. Hopefully it get some time to work. Lawn definitely took damage but high hopes it comes back

Re: Anyone still dropping Milo?

I can’t believe how quickly the brown our cane this year. I’m watering to keep it alive, weird how some spots go dormant and others maintain. I stopped cutting and I’ll let it get higher for a while. Wanna stay off it with the tractor.

Re: Anyone still dropping Milo?

I dumped my last BSF application about 10 days ago and I’ll take about 8 or do weeks off.

Actually stopped cutting too as this heat and direct sun combo is putting a hurting on the yard.

Might consider an app of ground up corn late July but haven’t committed to that yet.

Re: Irrigation after Serenade?

Yup. You could try something like nufilm but irrigating after applying serenade definitely diminishes its ability

What rate did you apply it at? How?

I don’t see blsc killing your lawn if you followed the instructions in the article

Ants were out of control and laughing at D.E. this year, particularly in our raised vegetable beds, so my wife resorted to borax, sugar, and water in lids, and that seems to have done the trick in 24 hours.
What form or borax are you using?

Re: Concerning?

I sent a sample in a year or two back to umass, nothing alarming about it from what she said.

Last nights rain has helped so maybe it was just low water

Re: Concerning?

I have full irrigation but I had to make this area cover more after we took down the trees so I’ve got some reason to believe it doesn’t get enough.

Getting dumped on as we speak so hopefully this helps

Re: Concerning?

I went out today and no issues with getting a screwdriver into the ground so at this point I’m assuming it’s just not getting enough water. Mixed up blsc and KH so I’ll put that into my spray rotation.
