Re: Game On for Autumn Leaves!!

Wasn’t looking to fertilize with the CC, more promote the trichoderma but it might be too late. So many pines around me I need to import leaves.

I’ll settle for a little rain.

Re: Game On for Autumn Leaves!!

I’m hopeful to hook up with a landscaper again and have him dump on sandy area. Being home how it’s easier to just jump on the tractor quick when I see them.

Too late to throw down corn to help?

Re: Adding OM - How much peat moss can the lawn take? (planning for 2021)

Is the timing of this key? I like to apply OM things in the late fall and early winter just because it’s cooler but there is very little “processing” at those times.

Re: No organic grains/urea near me

I just paid $27 a bag for urea, definitely need to find a cheaper store and get ahead of it next year.

How much is it on siteone?

Not sure what you are looking to pay or consider a high price but preferred seed in NY has bewitched. ~$100 for 10#

Re: Question re hydrating peat moss

I just did a bunch and while a sprinkler can work I think you’re better off hitting it with a little at a time. Misting works best because it’s not too much at once. Otherwise, trying to soak it with a hose and you’ll get some good run off. As stated, once it’s wet, it’s easy to keep it going. Try s...

Re: Rising Temps Forecast new seedlings

I always “feel” august is too early to do plantings because it’s still so hot and dry. Granted the night temps are better a dew starts to become present but I like to do new stuff in September......heck I saw people plant October 10th and they still got grass but I would t go that far. Seed down at ...

Re: August 15th is Here!!

Thanks for the reminder Andy!

How do you feel about waking up lawns now that have gone dormant from the lack of water? Mine has browned out a bit and I’m wondering if fertilizer before water would have any adverse impacts.

Thanks!

Re: BSFertilizer and other fertz

Well they really only sell locally and outside of buying it directly at the MWRA I’ve seen it sold through some very local Ace Hardware stores but there isn’t a wide distribution at all.

If you wanna drive then sure but Illinois probably disqualifies you a bit :)

Didn’t know that but I buy a pallet at a time anyway. I’ll be looking for an application window next week as I start to wake the lawn up. We need rain up my way and now it looks like this storm is going to miss us....sigh

Sorry to hear that! I’m also in the camp of specific sprayers for those rather unfriendly type sprays.

With all the spraying we do, a mistake like this is bound to happen. Chin up!

For $40 you can get 5lb of SLS on makeyourown.buzz and make blsc to last you a few good years! I just got down my second treatment last night, waiting for TS Fay to drop some liquid gold for me.

That’s a good bit of usage! They are actively fining people in our area if they are not following rules. I get a slow down every time the water department drives by. I wave :)

Re: Summer Fertilizer

I’m planning to do cracked corn. I saw better results with the shredded fall leaves decomposing faster last year after I did a summer application of CC.
