Re: Final Urea App Question....

I don’t think the article has weakness at all. Just newer way of thinking about late nitrogen. The difference between areas shouldn’t matter in terms of climate more than soil type. A sandy soil would hold onto even less late nitrogen than a less sandy soil. You can ask yourself have you ever actual...

Re: Final Urea App Question....

Wheres the research to support that? It’s a fairly heavily debated topic as to whether it’s worth it or not. The general consensus at this time is not that a late application is bad for the grass or that there is necessarily a problem with applying it. It’s more whether there is much if any benefit...

Re: Final Urea App Question....

A lot of research now shows that a “winterizer” nitrogen app isn’t really necessary. Earlier in the fall the plant uptake is more than late fall and the result is it just sits on the soil until the grass resumes growth in the spring or leaches before that. With how difficult it can be to time your w...

That’s a pretty straight round up line between you and your neighbor for just free hand. Looks good. I’m sure you’ll be seeing germination any day now.

Good to see you went with the bewitched monostand llO0DQLE. I think you’ll be happy with it. I’ll definitely be checking in to see your progress. Hope it turns out well. Should be a fun reno.

Re: SNOWBOB11 Bewitched Monostand Renovation 2017

patiently waiting for a spring 2018 wakeup post!! How's it looking so far SNOWBOB? Hey bmelz, how have you been? How’s your lawn doing? For me so far this year the reno has been doing good but has been extremely slow to really get going. I’ve cut it only once so far and that was basically just a cl...

Re: Will the mower blade hit the edge of the pavement?

This is just my opinion, but I would definitely not do a resurface and put asphalt on top of your existing driveway. To be honest your driveway doesn’t even look that bad from the pics. If your not going to tear it out and replace, I would just buy a few pales of driveway sealer and re seal it yours...

Re: 2018: Your Lawn To Do List

I’m looking into applying fas as well as plant growth regulators to get the best possible colour I can. I’ll be getting the lawn on a good pre-e schedule as well. Also will be getting a new Honda mower and maybe a striping kit.

Re: My rhizome introduction

Nice picture. When I first started noticing rhizomes in my reno, I found myself pulling blades of grass every couple days to keep check on them and because they are so cool to see develop. Bluegrass is awesome.

Re: SNOWBOB11 Bewitched Monostand Renovation 2017

Thanks guys. Yes I am happy about the results so far. I like the colour and just general look of bewitched kbg even at just over two months old much more than the old nomix grass. There’s still several areas that need some filling in but that will hopefully get done in spring. Still much work to do ...

Re: SNOWBOB11 Bewitched Monostand Renovation 2017

I’m now at day 67 and I figured I’d post one last update for the season on how the reno looks. The whitening from the tenacity has greatly subsided and I’d say is probably 85% gone. I think with the last couple weeks of growth basically all of it will be gone by seasons end. Even though top growth h...

Re: Dealing with Lawn disease late in the year?

It’s strange, I thought fungus problems would be basically a non issue this late in the year but about 3 days ago I noticed several areas on my reno that had rust breaking out. Rust had been quite prevalent this year in my neighbourhood but in the last few weeks I’ve noticed much less of it on other...

Re: 2017 S.E. Mass. Small all KBG Reno...

Cheating or not, that is looking very nice. It looks much more full than the last picture update. I can also fully understand the frustration with having to overseed each year. That’s one of the main reasons I chose to also go 100% KGB. Question for you. How much urea are you putting down for you wi...
