Re: Tired of being a slave to my lawn!!!
Right now I'm mowing twice a week, and I need to double cut each time. I'm probably spending 2.5 hours on it each time I cut. Still, I'm leaving windrows and clippings on the lawn. The growth rate of my lawn is tremendous and my mower and frequency of cut just can't keep up.hem look halfway decent,...

*PING* virginiagal
I'm ignorant. Just asking.
I've read where golf course supers do a deep root pruning on adult trees, to aid the surrounding turfgrass. It seems to be a moisture thing. Any opinions?
PS - How are you? Nice to speak with you again!

Re: Lawn Novice
You speak very confidently, yet surly when given GOOD advice from here. But then .... I have a lot of die off currently but still a fair amount of weeds. Ask yourself one major and huge question. What died off? (hint: or went dormant??????) Go from there. (I got a 10 spot that says it comes back roa...

Coated simply means delayed. Delayed and dependent upon temps and moisture.
Go for it, you're all good.

I read the label. Your information is there, depending on product being used. They are not all the same.

Re: Renovating a Poa Trivialis Invaded Lawn
The challenges with this are that one will have exposed dirt for upwards of 12 weeks which can create erosion concerns. Sorry to be blunt, but you are incorrect with your assumption. Dead Triv (and the other grass/stuff) doesn't just magically decompose and disappear in a week or two / month or two...

Seed to soil contact and it's importance
Just a couple casual pictures of why I always roll after seeding, to ensure seed to soil contact for germination. Will your renovation fail if you do not roll? No, as there is plenty of proof here to prove that. But I feel these pictures speak for themselves. See the bobcat tire? https://s12.postimg...

https://postimg.cc/image/9dbs64km3/ Tip: DYOD: FYI: ... and I mean this sincerely because you can see it closer and in person, much better than we can via a picture. Research rhizomes (poa annua) and stolons (poa trivialis). Those are you main clues. Neither thrive in heat. They're the first to go ...

Re: How many gun owners do we have here
That. Is. Awesome. What else do you have besides the 75? I really want one of those and maybe a P-01. MUHAHAHAHAHHAA, you get it! See that 75 is like my wife's certain towels. Now I too can say, "it's for show, not blow", when company comes over, right?????? CZ's are in my opinion, a great value. F...

Re: Grass type
I wish I could get rid of the thick grass and just get kbg Hello neighbor, from Midway. Your wish can not be granted because someone seeded a northern mix ( KBG, Rye & Fescue) which may have also included a couple/few undesirables too like K-31. PS. With this rain, keeping your grass too tall only ...

Re: Grass type
So would anyone know does it really matter to the soil if the grass is cut at 3 or 4 . Yes I understand 4 is better health wise, but does it really help out that much ?? Now that I'm cutting at 3 it does seem so short . Here's something I wrote a long time ago. In my opinion, no hard set rules, ada...

Re: How many gun owners do we have here
I still have my youth single shot .410 My 1972 Beretta AL2-20. Not worth anything just too sweet and perfect to part with. I have my dad's first gun, a single shot 12 gauge from the 1930's. His JC Higgins (Sears) 12 gauge double barrel that he traded a DeSoto for :rotfl: , and his prized 1954 Belgiu...

Re: How long after germination to plant pots
Going to get even warmer going into July there in IA. I'd nurture those pots until the end of August, then plant so as the soil starts to cool, the temperatures would provide root growth. Add in your fall fertilizer and that cooler soil, you'll get the spread from your pots that you are looking for....
