Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?

I'm surprised more people aren't posting about putting down a winterizer fertilizer app. Just sayin'. Ponder no longer! For better or worse, and after confirming no top growth, I had to drop my final feed of .75 / k of Southern States 37-0-0 yesterday (I have to rush out-of-town on business and won...

With the other T-zone guys on fungicides. Going to be a game changer next year. Have already have my rotation of Azoxy, Propiconozole, and Eagle for my rotation. :club:

Also learned that getting down 1" - 1.5" of water takes A LOT more time than you think out of a impact sprinkler at my house.

Re: How Did The Fall Nitrogen Regimen Work For You?

Followed a more aggressive route. .5# N / M every two weeks. After the 1st application i changed it up and started spraying the Urea. I liked spraying the Urea a lot more than trying to spread what feels like 25 prills over 1k, :rotfl: . I'll do one more bi weekly application before my slowdown occu...

Re: My rhizome introduction

Probasesteal, you should see them now. That picture was taken a few weeks ago, and they've since exploded with rhizomes on the outside of the pots. I really need to drop them in the ground this weekend. I seeded TTTF with hbg, cannot believe how much bluegrass I have. Had fungus wipe out some tttf a...

Re: 2018: Your Lawn To Do List

Get into Kelp and Humates, with the Soil Cond. to improve soil quality. Nuke out a section that for some reason ended up being mostly fine fescue. This area is full sun in the summer and just suffers. Maybe start playing with a warm season grass in the back yard salad bar. Leaning towards Zoysia at ...

Here's a cool shot for you. Top of the picture is KBG moving towards the bottom, and the bottom sprouts are TTTF (i used Titan) moving towards the top. This was in a area that i used Fusilade to knock out some bermuda. https://s1.postimg.cc/4ltxefwnaz/1001171811_HDR_1.jpg And i'm adding this one, ju...

Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?

Incredible improvement! Well done! Thanks! A lot of it is all the reading and reading (and Milo/Urea/overseed) and advice on here. I forget who said it, but they weren’t wrong...Spending any amount of time on these forums gives you the reno bug. An itch is developing to nuke it and do a Bewitched K...

Re: How 'bout it Transition zone?

Once the air and soil temps drop, though, the days are short and the grass begins to get starved for light. I'm still cutting at 4" to help with less light. Snow mold is a non issue for me, so i don't plan on lowering the HOC any. I have a section of yard up by the street that during the summer it'...

Re: How 'bout it Transition zone?

Calling for 31 - 33 Sunday night for me. I measured my soil temps out of curiosity, and i'm reading 63 in the sunny areas and 58 in the shady, so i'll call it 60. I'm going to basically ignore this frost / freeze. It's going to be back in the 60's and 70's by the end of the week. This is a tad early...

Really? Dang, this weather is all over the place. I had frost on the rooftops here last week. 35 that morning, and that's way ahead of schedule. A week prior to that it was 88.

Re: smasts 2017 front corner renovation

Suppose i should do a day 60ish update. Propiconizole has worked well, as well as the weekly .5lbs /M of Urea. It's really darkening. The reseed is just getting it's foot of the door from pouting, so the holes are closing and should be filled be the end of the year. I'm mowing every 4-6 days, and i'...

Re: SNOWBOB11 Bewitched Monostand Renovation 2017

My experience, bleaching peaks at days day 10, and then gets better from there and mostly gone by day 21. I think you're good.

I wouldn't put anymore urea down. I'm betting you get a frost (or really close to it) next week with this big cold front being predicted for the eastern NA next week.

Re: Spread more seed... or ride it out? - NoNet Fescue

I just want to add a picture showing the movement of the Titan RTF. This area was killed in this summer (mid July) on accident as i didn't properly clean the Glyphosate out of the sprayer want properly (lessen to be learned here :blackeye: ). You can see the RTF moving in, as well as some KBG. https...

Re: Lawn reno on a shoestring budget! Please do not flame!

jfoege, Read up on SnowBob11's reno thread. I don't remember the exact day post germination, but he started urea apps earlier than most would, and dang it looks good. Regarding the weeds, that's kind of your call as to when you start spraying, as long as the grass is old enough per the label. Know t...

Re: Spread more seed... or ride it out? - NoNet Fescue

So if you buy NoNet, you're getting Flame and/or Sunlight. That is not stated on the Jacklin tech sheet or on United Seeds’ website. Going to chime in here real quick. "NoNet" with this spelling (IE no Space) is a registered trademark, and if you zoom in on the logo, it's says "brand" in the logo. ...
