If I'm using calcitic lime, does the 110lb/k still hold?
No, the WayPoint recommendations are over a season/time not a single application. Same goes for the 3.0 lb N. Your N should be spread over the season not all at one time.

Stick to ken-n-nancy product/app recommendation for calcitic lime.

Re: Late nitrogen question

I agree with Andy.

Keep in mind how many people don't apply quick release N at the optimum time. Do their lawns still green up in spring? In spring if you notice your lawn growing slow and not greening up then apply a little N.

Re: 2019: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?

Last night it didnt rain all evening. I double mowed, trimmed, then took the blower around to stand up matted areas and disperse chunks of cut blades. Yes, i blow dried the lawn basically hahahhaha Then I moved plugs. Almost too wet to move them. No rain until this evening again. Yard is starting t...

Re: What's happening to my blade tips

I am not familiar with the Toro SW4200. Do you have a mulch kit installed and/or discharge closed? If so, remove the mulch kit and open the discharge. Check and see if it makes a difference. I know my old timemaster would do what you experience if I had the discharge closed. When I opened it up the ...

Put down Urea on Thanksgiving. It rained almost .25" yesterday. Almost put down the Urea earlier this week but the chance was slightly higher for yesterday. Timing was good this year.

Re: Hints for Larger Lawn Leaf Mulching

All great tips Andy. Thanks for sharing.

I had truck loads of leaves dumped in a mulch area last year. I raked them on a tarp. Then just dumped the tarped leaves around the yard and blew the piles around with a leaf blower. Then mowed them multiple times.

Re: Qs re fall overseeding fescue with KBG

They do it because the lawncare companies tell everyone that it's necessary, but it's unnecessary and quite profitable for the lawncare companies. People also see it done regularly at golf course greens, and assume it must be a practice that is done by the experts. It's done by golf courses to REMO...

Good catch TimmyG. On closer look a type of ryegrass? The abaxial looks smooth and keeled. The adaxial is rigid with a midrib(photo 3). The leaf tip looks pointed.

Same here in IA. Lowes still has it for $12.99 but out of stock. Home Depot is $19.24.

More details would help. There appears to be some spots on the blades in the photo by your finger. Did you notice any fungus or disease?

Re: My lawn never seems to stand up and look great

What's the HOC? Some cultivars just don't cut well at 3-4". I have KBG and it cuts best at 3.25" or lower. I do mow it higher in the summer but it also lays down like you said.

Have you taken any plugs to see check the root depth?

What’s the best place to buy Urea ? How much should 50#’s of 46-0-0 cost? Andy mentions this in the instructions, "You will not find fast-release Urea and/or AS fertilizers at big-box stores - don't waste your time trying. The best sources are farm-supply stores and places where landscapers and gol...

Re: Price Check, Isle 4?

I was able to pick up some 6-24-24 from two different local golf & lawn supply stores in Iowa. It is a granular 50lb bag. On average they were $17-20 per bag. I have almost 24k too. ECgrow is the manufacture but they don't have it on their site for some reason. Eh? You're comparing apples to orange...
