Bermuda Seed Head Expression
Hey y'all, I tried my best to search for threads that have covered seed head expression but couldn't find much that spoke specifically to my context so I wanted to reach out. I've been reading these forums all spring and I've been learning a lot, but as this is my first year maintaining a lawn of an...

Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?
Laid some fresh mulch after I planted a new Azalea in the front bed today. Then mowed before I started what will be a long and tedious leveling project. New construction in fall '16 with dips and bumps everywhere. How long is sand usually an eyesore before it blends in with the soil? We've got some ...

Re: Best Fill for Gaps in Bermuda Sod
I would imagine a balanced mixture of Topsoil(50%) Compost(25%) and Peat Moss(25%) would do the trick. That or I also know HD and the like sell "lawn soil" - some special concoction of soil with a little starter fert thrown in. That could probably work too. If you have sandy soil you might try addin...

Re: GaTiller Soil Test Results - 2017
That's pretty much the answer I was expecting, more trouble than it's worth. I'll keep sticking to the prescribed regimen and I have no doubt my positive results will continue. Thanks for all the help Andy.

Re: GaTiller Soil Test Results - 2017
Andy, I did some more reading prior to your most recent reply and was lucky to be graced with the great "Lipstick on a pig" debate of 2010 between you and Morph in a thread about iron applications. Not sure if you remember that thread or not; I would've been a sophomore in high school at the time! A...

Re: GaTiller Soil Test Results - 2017
All kidding aside, after I posted the first time today I read up on all the different forms of Iron and how soil conditions handle different forms of iron. From what I gather (correct me if I'm wrong), it seems like correcting iron deficiency in the plant is fairly simple, especially if using foliar...

Would thousands and thousands of tiny rusty rakes make the grass green?

Re: GaTiller Soil Test Results - 2017
Went to the store today to pick up the 9-9-9 w/11% iron but they said they only carry that product at the west coast locations, so I ended up going with a 13-13-13 at 7.5 lbs/k. I asked if they had any ferrous sulfate - out of stock at their location, so I dropped by HD and picked up some Pennington...

Re: Anyone using Holganix/Sumagreen/Sumagrow or the like this year?
I purchased a bottle of Holganix earlier this week and made my first application this past weekend. I'm eager to see others' results as the season progresses. I'm hoping to have success - I am a new homeowner with a new construction sod lawn laid last fall, so while I have no "life before Holganix" ...

Awesome, I think I've got my work cut out for me. I'd love to tackle the micros this year. I'm guessing some 20 Mule Team is in order?

Re: GaTiller Soil Test Results - 2017
Would you still recommend the ferrous sulfate treatments alongside the 9-9-9 w/11% iron or would that be too much? Also, am I still okay to maintain my current Milorganite schedule (bag rate every two weeks) if I'm putting down a balanced starter fertilizer every month? Overkill? Thanks for all your...

GaTiller Soil Test Results - 2017
Hey BL/ATY! Brand new first-time homeowner of a new construction in NE Metro Atlanta. Graduated from Georgia State University in May '16, bought a house in October, got married in November, and now that it's spring I'm ready to make my yard all it can be. From what I've read on here (yepp I've been ...
