Re: Questions re: FAS application and growth regulator

First, that looks pretty solid - I dig the edging! It sounds to me like you're dong this primarily for aesthetic reasons. Thank you! :) And yes, I am doing it mainly for aesthetic reasons. Look at old threads by nclawnguy - he grew a TTTF lawn and used these tools. My experience is mostly on KBG. I...

Re: Questions re: FAS application and growth regulator

I have read that if you think the next days heat is going to be over 85 degrees it is recommended you wash off the FAS to avoid damage, like you intend to do. I am not sure if the 6 hours is enough and am curious to find out because I may be faced with the same decision you have very shortly. You w...

Questions re: FAS application and growth regulator

Hi all, I've been searching and searching through the forums and haven't been able to find the info I'm after, so I'm hoping you all will be able to help me out. I live in the Sacramento area of California and have had my lawn under regulation for about 2 months. I've been irrigating and am not seei...

Re: 2018: What did you do on your lawn today?

Sprayed WBG on the broadleafs which have popped up in a couple spots. Getting ready to spray pre-M soon, as temps are edging higher much sooner than normal.

Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?

Put down 15-15-15 for an equivalent of 0.5#/k in front and back yards. Dropped HOC 1/2". Aiming for 2" HOC by end of September for over seeding.

Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?

Weeds seem to be all dead or dying. No notable turf injury except some mild bleaching from the Tenacity.

Finally broke our steak of 47 consecutive days with temperatures at or above 90!!

Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?

Sprayed my Bermuda suppression cocktail in the back yard (Acclaim extra + triclopyr + Tenacity). Cut down the diseased magnolia in the front yard. Now I just need to decide what will replace it.

Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?

Couldn't handle looking at crabgrass coming up through the fescue anymore, so I got up really early and sprayed with quinclorac + MSO. Hoping injury to the TTTF will be minimal, if any. Worst case, I'm overseeding again this fall so I'll deal with it then.

Re: Next Week is Primary Seed-Down #1 - Where are You?

Seed down for me will be the last week of September/first week of October. Our temperatures stay too hot until then.

Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?

Got up super early yesterday and sprayed tenacity on the variety of weeds that are trying to move into my yard from the neighbors. Also planted some KBG test pots in preparation for this fall.

That looks like spotted spurge. I've hit it with Q4 Plus before and that knocks it out pretty fast.

Re: Help with sprinkler placement (and intro)

Since my valve bank is right next to my house, I can't comment on the ease of running controller wire. However, I notice you mentioned the MP rotators on the PRS30 bodies... the PRS30 bodies are for traditional spray heads. MP rotator heads should be at 40 psi, so I think you should be using the PRS...

Re: Help with sprinkler placement (and intro)

Is there a preference for rotors over sprays? The MP2000 line with PRS bodies are quite comparable in radius and GPM to the I-20 line with the PRS bodies, and cheaper for the same number of heads. Any reason I should choose one over the other? Personal preference? How do I know when I should use th...

Re: Will it hurt my yard to spray it with Chelated Iron?

Well I just applied some before dark this evening. We have actually been in the low 80s and upper 70s the last two days. When I applied it, it was about 72 degrees. Perfect weather. Hoenstly, I was kind of bored and just wanted to get outside and do something to the yard. I had a bottle of Chelated...

Re: Reseed bald spots left from handbag pulled weeds?

In my opinion you should wait until fall. It has been my experience that trying to seed during summer is just a waste of seed and time generally.

Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?

Sprayed chelated iron on the front yard on Saturday. Greened up beautifully! Irrigated 3/4" the following day. Now I feel better about not being able to fertilize again for awhile due to our hellishly hot weather.

Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?

Dropped Cascade 16G at 3#/k on the front yard. Not sure if I've asked you before...but where did you find that stuff? ------------------------------------------- Mowed lower back and parts of front that needed it. Dug up some rocks behind deck after probing soil. Bought it from a company nearby cal...
