Re: Help identify these weeds
Wow that second app of celsius with msm did the trick. All the weeds are nice and dead after 2 days.

Re: Centipede Overseed Question
It is thin due to the dogs and kids in only a few spots in the back and one in the front where I had a bad weed problem last year. I already did my pre-em app in Feb and then the past 2 weeks I did 2 apps of Celsius with MSM so I am not to worried about anymore weeds coming in. Kind of hard to read ...

Centipede Overseed Question
I have about 300/sqft that the builder did not lay centipede sod on. I already did 2 apps of glyphosate on the area and was thinking about trying to seed it with TifBlair Centipede Grass Seed
Would it be ok to overseed some of my thin centipede sod areas with this seed?

Re: Help identify these weeds
Looking at what I put down last year, I am wondering if some weed seeds came in with the Milo apps. Here's how Milorganite is made: Milorganite is heat-dried in large-scale, bus-sized rotary dryers that operate at 900–1200°F. Are you still thinking that the weeds came from a bag of Milorganite? I'm...

Re: Help identify these weeds
So I spotted sprayed Celsius spiked with MSM on the 14th. I noticed about a half dozen different types of weeds all through the yard, much worse than I originally thought. Whatever is in the first picture is already starting to turn yellow and brown. Going to do a blanket app of Celsius spiked with ...

Re: Help identify these weeds
1 more note. I thought I didn't put down Pre-Em in the fall, but I just look at my spreadsheet and I put some down on 9/17/2017. However, I didn't write down what kind I used... ;(

Re: Help identify these weeds
Thanks. The one in the first picture is all over in my front yard and it is mostly under the centipede that is already turning green, so I think it would be hard to pull. We had a good week of 50+ degree soil temps but today it is down in the 30's for soil temps. The larger clumps are almost 8" tall...

Re: Chris Soil test 2017
Let's close this up... Centipede is undemanding, and likes a low-pH soil without a plethora of nutrients. You have soil that is extreme in that it is all over the board. I personally doubt that those numbers can happen naturally so close together, but I have no way to know what was done that could ...

Re: Where to start? Centipede
I hate when I get wishy washy. Those seed heads look like centipede. :banghead: :banghead: St Augustine seeds are less regular. Generally centipede does not grow that fast nor respond to fertilizer; however, there are some hybrids out that may act more like a lawn grass than the old fashioned centi...

Re: Spittlebug control
Nothing at all. Just enjoy them flying around when you mow. If you try to kill every insect you see you will damage the soil itself. A big category of beneficial critters in your soil is the insects. Spraying to kill an inconsequential bug is a path you should stay off of. That is what I read too, ...

Re: Where to start? Centipede
Looking a lot better after 11 days of the 15-0-15. On another note Milorganite smells like @$$, my wife asked if we loved near a farm lol. I put down 180 lbs of it late last night. Spittlebug control
There were hundreds of these things flying up the other day when I was mowing. What does this community recommend to get rid of them? Looking for something I can put down with a broadcast spreader around 10k. Or maybe hookup to the end of a hose. I have found a few different choices, the Bifen LP I ...

Re: Where to start? Centipede
So 3'' is the seed heads in less than week. Here are some pictures of the seed heads I pulled yesterday, 4 days after mowing. It does look like St. Augustine to me.... I put down some 15-0-15, 10 days ago and it really made a difference, I will post some pictures tomorrow. https://s29.postimg.cc/pw0...
