Out with it. Both of you. All my BLSC/KH ingredients arrive tomorrow. If either of you have something better, I'd love to know before I mix up gallons.
And if both of you have something better, I'll mix 'em both up and spray 'em 50/50.
This place... sheesh.

This might be a stupid idea... (BLSC and alfalfa pellets)
Okay, this might be a stupid idea... but could you spray or soak alfalfa pellets with BLSC in some manner, so that it is absorbed into the pellet and becomes time-release across multiple rain events? This might allow more of it to soak into the soil. On my property, the soil saturates within minutes...

Re: Suggestions 3-4 Port Hose Timer for Reno....
I have the 4-port Orbit 345-179 and it's excellent. It came with two valves and I had to buy two more.
It looks like the orange big-box store has some nice-looking Melnor options too.

Re: Kelp Help and Kelp & Humic Acid Blend
Reviving an old thread... Right now I've found the following sources: 1lb soluble humic acid @ $14.45 shipped 1lb soluble kelp @ $19.95 shipped Mixing these at a 2:1 ratio of kelp/HA, I get a unit cost of $16.28/lb for my KelpHelp mix. There is a vendor on Ebay selling their own premixed recipe at a...

Re: BLSC and KH Questions
I called Chapin. They said the G362 is mechanically their best sprayer. They have a G362D variant that is the same sprayer, but with a 32oz wide-mouth bottle. It turns out Lowes sells it for $20, so I picked one up.
For 3oz/1000sqft, I can do all 15,000sqft with just one refill.

Re: BLSC and KH Questions
Are you sure you wouldn't be happier using a typical hose-end sprayer like the Chapin 6005 ? That's what I use for BLSC, KH, and Serenade. I have a large lawn and refill maybe 3 or 4 times. I can't imagine lugging around a bucket that could spill and not having a free hand to manage the hose (150 f...

Re: BLSC and KH Questions
Shh. We don't have clay. We usually have silt, or silt/sand that's just rock solid and highly acidic from decades of strong acid rain from Bethlehem Steel and completely deflocculated. No wonder my bowls and vases aren't turning out right... I ordered 3lbs SLS powder from brambleberry and 1lb of yu...

Re: BLSC and KH Questions
I have about 15k sqft of wonderfully sterile Lehigh Valley clay to treat. (Shout out to MorpheusPA!) I wonder how well one of those hose-based siphons would work? https://www.amazon.com/Grow-More-Siphon-Mixer-Injector/dp/B004HPPR9S/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1501192084&sr=8-5&keywords=brass+siphon+mixer...

Re: BLSC and KH Questions
I used six ounces of SLS powder into 1 gallon and didn't have a problem with it dissolving and staying dissolved. Thank you, greenrebellion! This is exactly what I was hoping to hear. For the yucca extract powder, it looks like 4oz goes for $22.40 from the Kelp4Less website, and $12.71 from the Kel...

Re: BLSC and KH Questions
Many of us have learned that trying to mix 8 oz of SLS powder into 1 gallon of water isn't worth the hassle, can be near impossible, and will precipitate out even if you are successful. Exactly! So I figure 16oz SLS powder into 2.5 gallons (overfilling just a bit) should be around 6oz per gallon. T...

Re: BLSC and KH Questions
What a long strange trip it's been... Was searching on how to roll the bumps out of a clay yard, came upon some crazy discussion about "shampooing your yard." I eventually found my way to the BLSC posts, and here I am! We did one round of baby wash on the yard, and now I'm looking to go into full pr...
