Re: Accidental Scalp WWYD
Thanks HLG! I figured I’d be fine.
Guess it will be a good test. One side is shorter than the other for winter.

Accidental Scalp WWYD
I mulch mowed the other day out front. One side went perfectly fine. No issues. I got to the other side and it was the difference between using the vacuum on hardwood vs a rug. It took me a few passes to notice that my front wheel axle had busted and my Ego lawn mower was now an Ego race car, scalpi...

Re: Spring Pre-em accuracy
LCN talks about using polarized glasses to be able to see the sprayed areas but I don’t know if it works. I’ve seen some people use those little flags that utility companies use to mark “columns” as well. Just at the ends so you have a spot to look at and walk towards. You could pry put a few down t...

Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?
Mowed the back. The oak leaves had really piled up for my Ego and it took a double pass to get them mulched in. I contemplated a third pass but I skipped it tonight. Hosed the wheels off and went inside. https://s26.postimg.cc/rhtsvuvj9/C916_C1_BD-_C135-4_BCA-_BB0_A-_DF9_EFCF13895.jpg https://s26.po...

Re: Fall Nitrogen Regimens
If possible, I'd like to see some photos of the lawns using these techniques. Can some of you post images of your lawn? Thanks... That’s kind of asking to see pictures of a body builder because they eat bananas in their diet. There are some pictures in another thread Andy started about how the regi...

Re: Fall Nitrogen Regimens
There are no special requirements for storing Urea. I store it in an unheated barn, and put the paper bags inside of a plastic garbage bag to keep it somewhat dry. Works fine. I see you have Bewitch grass. I would like to plant some now that I have a bit more shady lawn (dapple shade). 1. How has t...

Re: Plugging now?
I forget where I read it but someone said they've done sod in December into a frozen ground without issue. I don't have any personal experience, and I've not seen any after photos of it being done...but I say go for it!

Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?
Mulch mowed the front. The sharp swing in temps this week dropped a ton of leaves and then the winds today knocked more down. Last mowed the front Monday and still had some growth I trimmed off when mulching. Not much, but enough. Waiting patiently for Winterizer.

Re: How Did The Fall Nitrogen Regimen Work For You?
We try to make our regimens pretty safe even for novices, because we get one or two of them around here... Novice? Who's a novice? :D First year doing it and really paying attention to the yard. Neighbors said the yard hasn't looked better in years. Got a little off on my mowing the other day, but ...

Re: Silly Dog Pee Question - Seriously
This is the first season I've really paid attention. I'll let me dogs "trash" the backyard over the winter like they normally do. We'll see how it comes out of it in spring. I doubt I'll go out there and pick up dog poop until everything thaws in the spring. We can experiment on my yard

Matt how are you liking the Regenerate (young as it is) so far? I was looking at overseeding with that next year if I can get my hands on some.

Re: Marinegrunt's 2017 Fall Renovation
My success is only because of the members of this forum providing me with advice and direction. Learning from the posts (and sometimes painful posts like yours) of others as well. I have a long way to go, it’s in that “hot from far away” stage. What about Mr. Neighbor? He leaving you alone now that ...

Re: What to do next
From what I’ve read adding Urea to new seed promotes top growth when it should be focusing on root growth. I would wait for winterizer but searching around (or someone smarter than me might chime in). I don’t know if waiting 60 days is recommended amount or number of mowings. I would get some Tenaci...

Re: 2018: Your Lawn To Do List
I’m contemplating killing the front and flattening it out. Bewitched reno. Maybe extending a mulch bed around the maple up front to make mowing easier. Finishing a raised bed in the back so I can reclaim some grass space from the wife’s plants.

Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?
Incredible improvement! Well done! Thanks! A lot of it is all the reading and reading (and Milo/Urea/overseed) and advice on here. I forget who said it, but they weren’t wrong...Spending any amount of time on these forums gives you the reno bug. An itch is developing to nuke it and do a Bewitched K...
