Re: What's the difference between a cheap lawn tractor and a pricey one?
Are the blades driven with an electric pto clutch or a manual clutch? Does JD have a recommended RPM or throttle setting for engaging the blades? On my zero turn, the manufacturer recommends engaging the blades at half throttle and then increasing to full throttle. Most heavy duty/commercial mowers ...

Re: ZTR Tire Pressure
Just as another data point, I have a Bradley 52" Stand On Zero Turn and the tire pressures from the manufacturer are 12psi rear and 15psi front. The drive tires are 23 x 8.5 - 12 and the caster tires are 13 x 5.0 - 6. The mower weighs around 900lbs without an operator. I figure having something with...

Re: Local Store to buy Urea
That's great, certainly not far away and they are open till 5 on Saturdays. I will have to check them out. For all of the agriculture around town there aren't many grain stores close by. I don't even bother trying to tell people what/why I am looking for certain things anymore. I just tell them it's...

Re: Local Store to buy Urea
Northeastlawn, what local feed store do you go to? I am in Rochester, MA - I have a feeling close to you. I haven't bought Urea yet, but plan to go to Progressive Growers in Wareham, but am always on the lookout for other places. There is also a SiteOne in Wareham, but their hours are terrible.

Re: Questions re: FAS application and growth regulator
I have read that if you think the next days heat is going to be over 85 degrees it is recommended you wash off the FAS to avoid damage, like you intend to do. I am not sure if the 6 hours is enough and am curious to find out because I may be faced with the same decision you have very shortly. You wa...

Re: Spray rig for 1.5 acres
While my yard is not quite as big as these guys, I still went for a 30 gallon tow behind spreader from Northern Tool. Their sprayers have good reviews and it seems well designed to me. I just started using it this year but it works well and tackles many different sprays. I suggest you check them out...

Re: x Wild Bill x Soil Test 2018
Knew I was forgetting one more question. Since I need the ingredients in the balanced fertilizer do you recommend I don't use Baystate/Milorganite for now? Was going to order some along with the neighbors.
Thanks,
Bill
Thanks,
Bill

Re: x Wild Bill x Soil Test 2018
Andy, thank you for the informed reply, very helpful. Looking up Rochester will help you analyze GreenGrassMASS' soil test since he is my neighbor about 1/4 mile away, I dragged him here. Even before I knew the benefits of mulching grass I pretty much never bagged anything as I hated dealing with it...

x Wild Bill x Soil Test 2018
Hi guys, first time poster, long time reader. Decided to get more serious with the lawn this year and had a soil test done by Logan Labs. Background: 18.5k sqft of Northern Mix lawn located in Rochester, MA 02770. I have partially renovated part of the lawn with TTTF and it has been doing well for t...
