FIESTA Iron Weed Killer
Anyone tried the Fiesta Iron-based weed killer? I just recently heard about it from a friend but am curious if anyone here has tried it and what sort of results you may have gotten. I'm specifically considering it for clover.

Re: Best Grass For Low pH Soil?
Told ya it was bad...
But in all seriousness, my only option is to bring in new soil, right?

Re: Best Grass For Low pH Soil?
Because I have soil with a TEC of 1.5 and ph of 5.0...doesnt hold anything i throw at it, just throwing $$ away until i can afford to bring in new topsoil that can hold onto anything.

Re: Best Grass For Low pH Soil?
K-31 is on my radar simply for it's tolerance of varying conditions. What about zoysia? I've read that can tolerate ph down to 5.0? I know it turns brown in colder temps but if that's not a concern how's that vs the K-31?

Best Grass For Low pH Soil?
Straight forward question, what type of grass (or specific seed) will do well in low pH soils? Fine fescues?

Re: Keeping Clippings As Keepsake?
Thanks Morph! Clippings are from my recent trip to Augusta National for the Masters, thought it'd be a one of a kind souvenir!

Keeping Clippings As Keepsake?
What is the best way to keep grass clippings as a keepsake and on display? Some sort of airtight acrylic case? Think sporting event field souvenirs...

Powdery Mildew?
So I found this random small patch of white dots on this clover in the yard and then the more I got to looking around its also randomly on my decking and plants around the deck, also on a random area of our paver patio. Is this some kind of powdery mildew or some other mold/fungus? Really strange wi...

Anyone from university turf programs that teach the stuff for a living. I'm not questioning your expertise I just always find it interesting when the so called professionals aren't up to speed on better information.

Re: Why sample only 1" of soil?
Got it that makes more sense now so thank you for the explanation. Out of curiosity, had any "arguments" with any scholars about that one?

Why sample only 1" of soil?
Question I've been sitting on for awhile...why is the recommendation to sample only the inch between 3" & 4" of your soil? I'm assuming that's for an average reading but grass takes up nutrients through all its "hairs" along the roots which obviously run through all of the top 4" of soil so why woul...

Re: Rotary Broom - Good, Bad, Indifferent for Lawns
Thats a fair approach, I can't afford to let any OM leave my property I need all the help I can get. I would definitely compost everything I broom.

Re: Rotary Broom - Good, Bad, Indifferent for Lawns
So i guess the answer to that is yes and no, I do have stuff laying on top of the soil but my soil also sucks and has virtually no microbial activity to eat those leaves. My primary issue is heavy areas of mulched leaves that just don't ever get worked into the soil so I was thinking about the sweep...

Rotary Broom - Good, Bad, Indifferent for Lawns
Looking for people's thoughts on buying a walk behind rotary broom sweeper (think Sweepster) to use primarily for spring cleanup of the lawn. I know the general consensus on here is that brooming/sweeping/raking is more detrimental than it's worth to the lawn but my results (compared to neighbors th...

Re: Walk Behind Mower Recommendations
Thanks for all the input, especially about the lubrication tip. With such limited options and not wanting to spend $2500 on the Scag in this category i feel like the Time master is the way to go

Re: Walk Behind Mower Recommendations
Have they finally weeded out the engine issues from a few years ago? I remember that was quite a talking point for awhile but I believe was remedied by the 223 cc engine?

Walk Behind Mower Recommendations
I'm in the market for a walk behind mower and looking for suggestions. I know there are a lot of fans of the Honda HRX on here but I need something a little bigger (30+"). Mulching capability is a priority.
