Re: Another Weed ID, Please
I have had a good amount of it this season myself, and with my relatively small lawn they've been easy enough to just walk around and hand pull. Annoying little buggers for sure

Thanks for the heads up! Can't wait to finally give it a whirl after a successful seeding last fall.

Re: Summer Dormancy: What's Your Situation?
Most of the front 1 yr old Bewitched renovation still looks amazing despite the 1 hand watering I've given it all year. Mother nature's been good to us around this neck of the woods. I do have a few oddball spots that borderline dormancy and dead to my eyes, and hoping it's the foremer. https://i.po...

Re: Dimension and overseeding
Yes I have a bottle of tenacity so I could do the pre emg dose of that I guess. Pre-M dose of Tenacity at seed down for my KBG reno area did wonders in not only preventing weed seed germination but also controlling my existing established crabgrass infestation. I would highly recommend it at seed d...

Re: To Mow or Not To Mow?...That is the Question
Sorry in advance as I'm struggling with the same questions myself. My 7-10" uncut Bewitched looked thick and dark the past 3 days being 4 days out from its last mow. I chopped it down to 4" today and it's already drying out in spots. I read your post about being a fan of the KBG 70s shag and thought...

Re: Things Experienced Lawn Owners Do That Novices Don't...
+100. I was planning to add that as a follow-on as the conversation developed, but you're right on the money. Many people that ask me how I get the lawn dark and thick think I have found the Holy Grail of fertilizers (aka, Miracle In A Bag), and they're angry that I won't spill the beans on its nam...

Re: KBG Pots in NoMix lawn
Yes, particularly in the shady spots. The full sun areas of my Fall 2k18 Bewitched reno took off running with no signs of slowing down, but one shady section that gets maybe 2-3 hours of sun at best is struggling and severely thinning out. I'll have to reassess these spots in the Fall if they don't ...

Re: Summer Fertilizing - Yes/No
I've pumped it to it so far this year. I've applied milorganite 3 times since the beginning of may, along with a synthetic in the beginning of the season to get rid of the leftover bag and free up some much needed space in the "hobby room." Other than a little leaf spot in the shady areas on the you...

Re: Eddie's Soil Test - 2019
Thank you for your guidance as always good sir. I will give it a long lasting try and switch it up to KH at some point to compare the results. I've applied lime + epsom, SOP twice, milo 2x + micros 1x, peat moss, equine pellets and everything about the turf looks unbelievable (vigor, growth rate, de...

Re: Eddie's Soil Test - 2019
Yes sorry, would applying Humic DG on a regular basis benefit my soil plan as a supplement? And I meant to ask if Kelp Help as opposed to BLSC (my mistake, mixed them up) would produce similar results at a cheaper price? I do like the ability to spread the granular humic, but I'm moreso after result...

Re: Eddie's Soil Test - 2019
Andy, would applying Humic DG from The Andersons on a regular, consistent basis as a supplement to my soil plan have any benefits over time? And would spraying BLSC produce similar results as spreading the granular at a much cheaper price? It looks like a great product, and very high in humic acid, ...

Re: What the heck happened to my lawn!
This is a design flaw in a few of the spreaders in the Scott’s spreader line. Does your edgeguard spreader have plastic wheels that are “open” on the inside? Broadcasted fertilizer will collect in these wheel interiors as you apply then drop out, causing lines. Wow. Hadn't heard that before. Makes ...

Sorry to hear that.... I was hoping my observations were accurate for you. But good on you to have it tested while in doubt and catching it now as opposed to later. I wish you the best of luck controlling/eradicating that nuisance.

Re: Here Comes the Burn-Out
Even with the 1.6 inches of rain we've gotten 2 days out of the last week and a half, yards around my neck of the woods are crispy coming into the beginning of summer. My yard couldn't be anymore green, even with the small case of fungus I'm battling, because of the wonders of knowledge gained on AT...
