Re: Boston Globe Article on PFAS in Bay State Fertilizer
So BSF actually have the lowest PFAS compare to Milorgantite and Oceangrow based on that chart.

Re: Newly Seeded Lawn-Winterize or Not
Thanks. Will do.
What to do about the leaves? blow it out, leave it or mulch it? If mulch is it a good idea to drive a 600lbs tractor on it? Given the soil will not be soggy.

Re: Are "professional" turfgrass seeds the only way to have a good lawn?
I've seen lawn that is quite nice from just Scott's seed. A lot of it depends on the soil, correct amount of water, sun vs. seed type, and your cutting. With my new lawn, I went with local Valley Green. I got 50lbs each of blue tagged Moonlight, Blueberry, and Bewitched for a total of 150lbs for $72...

Re: Nick’s New Lawn Soil Test
Thanks Andy
I have 15 bags of BSF from my last house and 2 50lbs of Urea. Please recommend the amount of Borax I need to mix with the BSF.
Also, I'm getting sprouts from the KBG seeding. Do you think it's okay to winterize or skip it this year when the time comes?

Nick’s New Lawn Soil Test
The soil at our last house was so bad that Andy suggested we move. I heeded the advice and just moved to a new construction house last week. The lawn is about 20k and I seeded last week with a mixture of Blueberry, Bewitched, and Moonlight from Valley Green blur tag. I’m seeing strips of sprout prob...

Re: Is fall happening or not??
No rain in sight for the next 10 days and we haven't seen a drop of rain for the last week or so. Only morning dews.
I just dropped seed on my new house. Hoping for the best. It's late for KGB seed and no rain but irrigation is on to keep it from drying out.

Baystate Fertilizer Available at Mahoney
Got a whiff of it and turned around and saw that BSF is now available at my local gardening store Mahoney in Chelmsford MA. Not sure if other Mahoney will have them or not but it is good to see it being distributed. 12$ a bag though. https://i.postimg.cc/D411ysMM/9-E812-A89-2106-4193-8-D10-6-DBA9908...

Re: Goodbye, July!!
Good bye July. Good bye the lawn that I've worked so hard on for the past 5 years.
And yes, having the grass grow more than 5" helped with the 100s we had last week. I have about 15bags of BSF. Not sure if I just going to throw them down or move to the new house with us.

Re: Summer Dormancy: What's Your Situation?
Some browning. Mostly seen after a mow. My deck is already at max height of 4.5".
The color and health are better than I expected for the little amount of water I use this year. Getting the heavy rain helped a lot. I held off on watering for 4 days waiting for a nice thunderstorm coming tomorrow.

Re: Tell us about your experiences helping neighbors
Here's my SW reef set up. I actually met PSU4ME on a local reef forum. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQXMQVEBMjA As for helping neighbors, I also lend them my lawn equipment. From tow behind aerator, thatcher, spreader, and even my tractor. I like to help out when I see people doing manual labor a...

Re: To Mow or Not To Mow?...That is the Question
Why do you care what your neighbor thinks? Do what's best for you and for your financial. My next door neighbor's lawn is managed by external company. They come and cut their lawn down to about 2" every week. Their sprinklers come on every morning even if it's raining. Yes, it's somewhat green but s...

And that's a mixture of mostly KGB as I've killed most of what the builder put down.

Re: GrubEx timing
You have to see the stupid amount of rain we've gotten this year. In april alone, it rained more than 23 days with frequent downpour. I hope I didn't waste my money and time but I wouldn't be surprised if all the rain have washed it away. We'll see. I put Grub Ex down on 4/16. With all the rain, I t...

Re: What's the difference between a cheap lawn tractor and a pricey one?
I never said anything about the different quality of the same D or E series from the big box or at the dealership. Although I would still always buy at the dealership for their service and knowledge and availability of parts when needed. It's your money and time. There's nothing wrong with using wha...

I can see the neighbor across the street with some Forsythia bush blooming. I put down Prodiamine last weekend.
