Sun Requirements
I’m planning on reno’ing the yard this year so I’m trying to make a selection on grass based on what’s availableat my local sod farms. Today I took pictures of my yard each hour between 8am-6pm, then divided the yard in 4 sections (East to west) and determined each section gets a pretty even 6 hours...

Regrading Lawn
https://i.postimg.cc/vD7J6QSR/IMG-3722.jpg Planning on finally getting around to redoing the landscaping in the front yard this year. I had a giant pine at the corner of the house taken down last year so right now the lawn is about 60% unknown zoysia that seems to spread about 1" per year, 20% dirt...

Re: When is it too late to scalp Zoysia?
Thanks Dchall_San_Antonio. What I meant by not being able to find it is any information on when (or why) it would be counterproductive to scalp because it’s too late. I see a lot of articles and forums including this site suggesting it with zoysia for both faster greenup through warmer soil temps an...

When is it too late to scalp Zoysia?
I can’t seem to find this information anywhere. I’m in zone 8a, I’m not great at determining %greeness but I’d say about 25%.
My plan was to scalp this weekend, which really will be around a 1” cut. Would this be too late? Could it ever be too late to the point that it damages the grass?

Using pond for irrigation
I have a small pond in front of my house. Fully established pond with fish, frogs, aquatic plant growth, etc. I could potentially hook up a sump pump to use this as a source for irrigation. Are there any benefitial nutrients or microbes typically present in ponds that would make this worth while over...

Seeking advice on potential plans to fix my lawn
Last year I attempted a new lawn of TTTF in my backyard. The previous grass including all weeds had been completely picked clean to the dirt by our 6 chickens (who have now been locked off to a different area) so that saved me the step of killing and scalping everything. I had a soil test from last ...

What’s wrong with my TTTF
2 weeks old today, my yard is still recovering from heavy rains late Thursday night. I noticed last night that a lot of the blades are breaking about halfway up as shown in the photos. My fear is damping off. Any ideas or suggestions? https://i.postimg.cc/QF0PPc3q/0-E867440-7189-42-F4-8-D02-98-DB45-...

Re: Looking for guidance post-germination
Green do you have any photos? which 2 did you use? This was actually a 1/3rd each preblend at my local hardware store, thought they picked excellent cultivars for my area!

Re: Looking for guidance post-germination
not mowing yet. Im around the 2" mark in most areas, I would expect to be around 3" and ready to mow in the next 10 days. I did not do any tenacity at seed down. I tilled 1 yard of compost and some lime into the soil, other than that, just seed and rolling. Andy, winter kill and snow mold are genera...

Re: Looking for guidance post-germination
Wouldn’t I want to swap out the starter fertilizer for something high in nitrogen after the seedlings have germinated?
I’ve read somewhere that Urea is a good choice in low doses at 2 and 4 weeks. Thoughts?

Re: Looking for guidance post-germination
Thanks Andy, my mistake. It actually came back as "M" for both P and K so my statement remains the same. whether the assumption is correct or not is another story..
would you recommend an early fertilizer application since I skipped the starter?

Looking for guidance post-germination
hello all, about a week into my ~2300 sqft backyard TTTF renovation (Titanium 2LS, Firecracker SLS, SuperSonic). So far so good, the weather has been excellent so germination started on day 4 and Im at I would say about 80-90% germination at this point. What Im looking for is a lawncare guide beyond...
