Re: KnickLeDime 2020 Soil Test

I've done both. You have to watch much more carefully when staggering on a shorter cycle. 30-day alternating is easier. From July 1 - August 15, I wouldn't put down anything but the Milo at half-rate, unless you are OK with REALLY staying on top of the irrigation. If you don't mind my asking what n...

Re: KnickLeDime 2020 Soil Test

Not together, but how to play it if you want to use both is dependent on how aggressive you wish to be. The safest is to use one of them one month, and the other the next month. The aggressive angle is to do an offset - put down one (on the light side) at the beginning of the month, and the other a...

Re: KBG going to seed

I made a thread about this earlier but same experience...wild how many seed heads this year. I've NEVER seen it this bad. I know it will pass but what environmentally changed that so many folks are having the same experience. My lawn is incredibly patch, two weeks in at this point.

Short grass going to seed...

I'm not sure I've ever noticed it as much as this year but my lawn is cut at John deer setting 3 and noticing a lot of grass going to seed even though it's short. It's happening a lot all over the lawn in large pockets. What does this say about the lawn and can this seed actually produce new grass? ...

Anyone have any experience with this pre-m? https://i.postimg.cc/dhHtVMmv/IMG-20200416-190546.jpg I picked this up at site one it was recommended by them and price was good. Last year I put this down for pre-m. https://i.postimg.cc/Q9N29VXy/IMG-20200416-190601.jpg I see the formulation is different ...

I used ALL lesco branded stuff from site one. I applied bags and bags and bags of stuff all season.

Really disappointed... We'll try again this season. Same regiment.

Re: Who Is Making Big Changes in 2020?

This guy right here. I just signed up to the forum to educate myself on ways to improve my lawn. I've been living in my current home for 2 and a half years now. I've got about 20K sq. ft. of lawn space and it's about half crabgrass right now. Our first year I decided to hire TruGreen to help eradic...

Re: Happy New Year and 2020 Changes in your Plans

Had great success after bad grub damage...overseed/seed looks like it took quite well especially in the badly damages areas that didn't fully recover. Plan is to adjust based on what the soil test says but continue to largely enhance and strengthen the lawn. Was very pleased with last years with rec...

Re: How Do You Rate The 2019 Season For Your Lawn?

Very, very nice! I forgot to include that there are still area's to work on, the overseed with an elite cultivar went great. I could NOT have done it without the knowledge, encouragement and support of a number of folks here. Not gonna lie, was a lot of work especially prepping for overseed, raking...

Re: Mowing height - what are you at?

Down to 2.75 and will leave it here for the rest of the season, have some unevenness around tress and other areas that if I drop lower tears up the lawn in a few spots. Also lowering any more doesn't help with trying to get leaves in there to mulch, Deer kind of just drags a big pile around LOL.
