Re: Weed ID and what to treat it
Its definitely not zoysia. I though it might be Nimblewil, but I couldn’t confirm or find pictures that looked like mine. Those brown bunch of blades looking like bouquet generally appear in mid August. I see them all year because they don’t grow tall enough to be mowed. It definitely has runners. T...

Weed ID and what to treat it
Need some help in identifying this weed or grass. When I pull on it, there’s runners or rhizomes that spreads on the surface to help spread more. Thanks in advance. https://i.postimg.cc/z3NRxrfB/3-C3-D3-EF3-36-FC-4-ED7-A99-C-2-C74-D6582800.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/T5TL1rsm/A661-A0-D1-DCF6-4-CDB-A9-A...

Re: Gsdramsey Soil Test Results: 2022
It was a great spring, but one brutal summer for my lawn. It hardly rained and when the rain was in the forecast, it was spotty. The sun was also scorching hot this year. Didn’t plan on overseeing this year due to price of seeds and materials. I’m glad I stocked up on urea last year for this fall. T...

Re: 2022: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Got my 2nd application of Podiamine on my lawn before the rain last night and this morning. It was a light rain, just enough for me not to have to water it in.

Update… Morph, you were right about seeing some changes by June! There are subtle changes in certain areas of my lawn I would only notice, but overall the lawn has improved with the plan you laid out…thanks! Looking forward for June 1st application. https://i.postimg.cc/BP2dc8cB/34-BC59-F4-85-A1-4-D...

Re: Amendments - where to buy?
I got my Epsom salt from Bed, Bath and Beyond. 6 Lb bag is $4.29 and with their coupon it comes to $3.43. They have coupons 20% off total purchase. Hope you have one nearby.

Urea Supply
Hi All,
Driving up from Florida back to New York (mostly on I95) on Saturday. Any suggestions on where to pick up Urea for my fall nitrogen regiment along the way? Thanks…

Re: Gsdramsey Soil Test Results: 2022
Applied the last chemical on my list (Epsom Salt) for the month of April today. Rain in the forecast tonight.
Tomorrow I'll pick up the Potash, Milo & Lime (Sept only) for June and September.

Re: Gsdramsey Soil Test Results: 2022
First, thanks Morph for analyzing and for laying out the plan to get my soil back to health for growing grass. It took me time to digest all that you wrote and to source my supplies. I was somewhat shock at my pH. and wonder the cause of it. I’ve been mulching all the leaves in the fall for six year...

Gsdramsey Soil Test Results: 2022
This is my first soil test done on my lawn (15,000 sq.ft). I’ve over seeded my lawn with KBG and Perennial Rye grass. I have in-ground sprinklers, only the front yard (5,000sqFt.) gets watered regularly. The summer months I water the backyard one inch per week. I cut my lawn every five to six days a...

Re: Advise on my Fall lawn Renovation Project

Thanks for sharing your (also others on this forum) knowledge and personal experiences on lawn care. It has helped immensely in bettering my lawn and financially too....

Advise on my Fall lawn Renovation Project
In preparation to my lawn renovation I sprayed Humic Acid and Kelp to my entire lawn in July. August 15th I started prepping the back section (2k sq.ft.) of my backyard for reseeding. KBG/Rye Seeds with a layer peat moss/top soil mixture was down and Tenacity was sprayed on Aug. 20th. Continued prep...

Re: Dormant Overseeding
Just turned on my sprinkler system on Thursday. Weather in my area has been cool this spring. Been hand water this and other bare spots I seeded in April. Yes, the test will be surviving through the summer heat. Here’s a picture on why the stump was in the ground for years. https://i.postimg.cc/y3ZZ...
