Re: jskierko's Fall 2020 Bewitched Front Renovation

Definitely sounds like you're on top of the issue. I wonder if the compacted, slow-draining section would be aided by "shampooing" that area for increased water permeability? I have been treating all summer/fall with SLS/humic bi-weekly :good:. I've seen some spreading into those areas, so we will ...

Re: Is this a fungus or something else?

Looks like rust- use a paper towel and see if it wipes off the blade. Definitely lighten up on the watering and throw some nitrogen at it and it should grow out. https://i.postimg.cc/ZWhd3jtk/Screen-Shot-2020-09-25-at-12-11-49-PM.png https://i.postimg.cc/75MTN7w5/Screen-Shot-2020-09-25-at-12-11-33-P...

Re: jskierko's Fall 2020 Bewitched Front Renovation

What do you think is the cause of the thin areas along the property boundaries? Poorer watering from the irrigation system in those spots? Overwatering from the irrigation system in those spots? Pre-emergent from the neighbor? The left property line is definitely due to overwatering. That area sits...

Great job! Looks awesome. So is your first cut with anything at 42 days (as opposed to first cut with a rotary)? Thanks for all the comparative pics! My first cut was around Day 28 with a manual reel. I still have quite a few spots with younger seedlings, so today was the first day that I was brave...

The pic doesn't do it justice to show how eroded the ground is. I will eventually add a bit of topsoil and let it fill in. https://i.postimg.cc/RWwLfcFH/20200924-...

That's a lot of filling in and greening up just within the last 5 days, looks great! :clapping:

Re: Please help with ID

K-31 or some other tall clumping fescue. I have several areas of this in my backyard. No, it won't die in the winter and it will likely be the first to green up in the spring. In my NoMix it grows faster than the rest of the grass, so anything greater than 24 hours post mowing and it stands out. I h...

Re: Thoughts on 2020 Summer Sesaon Results

My lawn went to the next level when I decide to renovate with 100% Bewitched, it's like night and day from my old lawn. It was the best thing I ever decide to do. Your reno thread/results was a very large contributing factor on me taking the plunge this fall to a Bewitched monostand (albeit only ha...

Looks great! I think I see enough sprouts in your "sparse area" to believe it will fill in just fine without supplemental seeding, just a bit behind the curve.

Re: DevilDawg81’s New Lawn - 2020 Version

I forgot to say that I bought the erosion rolled material at Lowes. Apparently they have a bagged good erosion pellet product that is best applied by hand. I'm going to pick up some of that today as well. I used Pennington Slopemaster from Lowe's (not sure if that's what you are referring to) on se...

Re: Correct steps for lawn reno when dealing with triv?

I’m not a big fan of adding top soil as generally a lot of unwanted seeds (weeds) are usually present. For me I would get the unknown soil down after the 1st scalping. Fallow. And try to get any weed seeds to grow (hopefully there is none) but I have never been that lucky. And then plan glyphosate ...
