Re: Need Help with Problem Patch of Lawn
Would Bewitched KBG possibly work under a tree? I used it in a shaded area of my KBG lawn and it worked wonderfully. My 2 cents worth and I wish you good luck!

Worked on sprinkler system then spot sprayed weeds. More weeds than I anticipated, looking at options to kill some odd weeds.

Re: 2023: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today (Cool Season)
I mowed last night and watered this morning. I've definitely made the decision to not let the lawn go dormant. I have a yellowish spot in the front lawn near the driveway I need to figure out all I know it's not dog pee.

Re: 2023: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today (Cool Season)
I've been working on my sprinkler system, had a fence installed late last year causing a re-think of the sprinkler layout . We've had a lot of rain so I haven't needed it but a dry spell is upon us. Going to water in some Milo this morning in the front yard and work on the sprinkler system in the ba...

Re: Tenacity Pre-em
I am living this, I dormant seeded right before winter and I'm not far from the OP. I bit the bullet and put Pre-emergent down today. Like a lot of folks here, the spots I dormant seeded were near my driveway or curb. I just couldn't hold myself back from putting down the Pre-M and will do some extr...

Re: 2022: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Things are slow here yet, seeing the first consistent days of over 50 degree ground temp. Put down Scott's crabgrass preventer (no fertilizer) and picked up a ton of sticks. Won't have to mow for about a week yet, plotting my feeding strategy (Phillies) for the year. This late start to spring certai...

I threw out some seed the other day in bare spots, my yearly attempt at dormant seeding. Just hoping for a little miracle.

Re: Fall Nitrogen Regimens
Masbustelo, I did read the thread on the first thread. I'm going to pay very close attention to my first frost, then hard freeze and adjust. I started late, so I don't have time to complete the full regimen. I've done it timely years past and it has been such a bonus to having a full lawn in the spr...

I'm late a bit to the game. Did Milo 1.5 weeks ago, going to weekly urea starting tonight. My sprinkler system will be shut down Oct 27th so I will finish by then. Yard is looking good here but need to finish things up!

It's been super windy here. I've been mulching leaves about every 2 days. Neighbors on both sides of me are doing nothing with their leaves, so I end up a full cover if it's windy. Would like to get a winterizer feed out this week, the yard is still growing.

Re: 2019: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
I'm pretty frustrated with a Magnolia that refuses to drop leaves. It's getting cold here and I want to mulch these leaves up before snow buries them. I did take down some shrubs yesterday to get ready for curbside shipping by my local municipality next week. More to do tomorrow, it's the warmest da...

I remember when I first started with this forum (and prior to this forum at the old place) how much I thought I knew. I was so wrong! My first real project was a reno, read a lot on how to do it, did a soil test an went through the expert timelines. What I didn't do is factor in the fact I'm up nort...

Re: Options for Grassy Weeds
How do you use that thing? Do you have to compress the head to release the herbicide? Or can you let the weeds grow taller than the turf and just sort of brush the herbicide onto the leaves? The video I saw showed them compressing the head at the crown of the weed and somehow piercing it with point...

Re: Options for Grassy Weeds
I love my weed wand and use it for this very purpose. I have quack coming through from under my neighbors fence. I use it every year and because the blades are so wide it's pretty easy to eradicate. The wand I purchased can be found https://www.amazon.com/Pixies-Gardens-Weed-Wand-Surgically/dp/B01G6...

It's been months since you posted this Green. I think you did the right thing, it's exactly what I struggle on even when I know it's right.

Re: 2019: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Today I put special (ha) fertilizer on my hydrangea plants to turn them pink or blue when they bloom. Well, which is it -- is what you applied going to turn them pink? Or, is it going to turn them blue? Ha, I should have been more specific. 2 hydrangeas, one will be blue and the other pink. My bett...
