Re: Need some clarification....

For the curious, the equation is: M = 5.17T+0.21 M = Months of coverage, your answer. T = Tablespoons of Prodiamine WDG 65 used per thousand square feet. Awesome!! Thank you for your knowledge :yahoo: Naturally I applied Prodiamine this morning before reading your post. Applied at a rate of .67 tbs...

Re: It's March!! Time to Wake Up (and Happy Birthday ATY)

It's time! Noticed forsythia buds yesterday and received a notification from greencast today that would temps are at 55. Drizzling rain tonight, Prodiamine going down tomorrow morning (I think) as long as there isn't too much rain tonight. If not tomorrow then Thursday. Looking to burn a few stumps ...

Re: 2020: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?

Overseed went down this afternoon. Hogan blend on most of the yard. Links mix on the side of the house has thinned every year I've lived at the house due to shade. Then the curveball - Pike Nursury "Atlanta Fescue Blend" on a portion on a previous bed/pinestraw area. SO decided we needed to push bac...

Re: 2020: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?

Feel like I'm behind the curve down here just north of Atlanta. Put down a late application of quinclorac today. Targeting overseed in 10 days or so (hoping safe after quinclorac). Will order Hogan's blend tomorrow. Looking into liquid or granular aeration. I want to avoid mechanical but have georgi...

Re: I got a visit from the County Water Department

I got my bill. $275 for the quarter ending 7/31. I used 56,000 gallons in total. Same quarter last year (prior to doing a 3 side renovation) was 18,000. This was my first season with new kbg on 3/4 of the lawn and my first year in this house with an irrigation system. We had a drought and lots of h...

Re: So when do we drop the PreM?

Research "Quinclorac" to get young crabgrass seedling in control quickly - it is a great screwup/cheaters approach. Appreciate Out. down a 2-4 d and quinclorac combo. Upon further inspection, the crabgrass was actually dallis grass and I have chickweed coming back up from last year. Trying to get a...

Re: How Do You Rate The 2019 Season For Your Lawn?

I second by deboy. Good bit of learning with a new (to me) lawn this year. Gained knowledge around preemergents, managing irrigation and timing of fertilizing. Lots of focus on managing weeds next year and targeting healthy growth.

Re: 2019: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?

Temperature's have dropped some here. Low's of 33 overnight, highs in upper 50's. Overseeded (way) late 2 weeks ago so still hoping for growth. Next year likely to be pretty rough for the yard. Germination is coming through nicely though. Hoping for continued higher than average temps. Dropping wate...

Re: Tony's soil test - Fall 2019

Wow! Now I'm at a loss for words. Given the weeds and lack of visual health over the past 6-9 months, I figured the soil was toast. The previous owner must have cared for his lawn better than I imagined. Unfortunately, I think the weed issue may have been provoked by a "helpful" neighbor with aerati...

Appreciate the reply. That's what I was afraid of. It's been so hot in Atlanta (90s) until just the past 10 days or so. Reposting the results

Tony's soil test - Fall 2019

Hello - Recently moved into a new to me home. Lawn is a tall fescue blend, the seeded area is right at 1,000 sq. ft. with irrigation. The previous owner seemed to take care of the lawn but a number of weeds have come through as summer progressed. I'm looking to increase the health and look of the la...

Adding on here - Just purchased the Hogan Blend. They also sell in 5 pound bags for smaller yards if needed. I needed 10 pounds, very helpful and quick to respond via phone
