Dimension and Overseeding
I will need to overseed some thin spots this year. I was planning on an application of Dimension in late June. If I apply 2lbs/K, will that (likely) be enough time after the application to overseed last week of August and then apply the fall app of Dimension after germination?

Dimension Split App Confusion
I am looking for clarification on split/sequential apps of Dimension. I am in MA, Zone 6a. The max application annually is 7.7lbs of product per K. If I am reading the label correctly, I should put down 2.9lbs/K in the spring. Which should be 1.45lbs/k 5-10 weeks apart if I wanted to do the split ap...

Re: AndyV 2023 Soil Test
It would be fine (April's wearing away fast!) but if you held it until May, that's also just fine. Milo's one of those things I drop around May first, and we're already pushing that date, hard though it is to believe. The micros won't significantly interact with anything else, certainly not the cal...

Re: AndyV 2023 Soil Test
Personally, I'd go with 5 Tbsp Borax and 2 Tbsp manganese sulfate, and in April and September. Those don't interact and can go with pretty much anything else. Morpheus, I just thought of one question. You said to apply micros in April. The micro application guide uses Milo as the delivery vehicle. ...

Re: AndyV 2023 Soil Test
That's an interesting evolution; it did exactly what I would have expected, which is actually kind of surprising. Usually soils surprise you. Of course, this soil is sandy, which means fewer surprises. Again, organic matter can't go too high on a sandy soil. Pour it on. Carbon copy last year's calc...

AndyV 2023 Soil Test
Hello All, After having my third child last summer I am back to focusing on the yard this year. I didn't have my soil tested last year, but I did continue the regimen that has been prescribed to me for the last few years and the grass is in decent shape. I continue to pour on the OM and will continu...

Re: Using someone else's leaves
Like others, I use my neighbor's, and he loves me for taking them, despite my years of trying to convince him that he should be using them for his own lawn.

Re: Triclopyr safe to use near hydrangea?
Thanks, all. I'm going to play it safe for now and see what I can do with the previously discussed method. These plants are very well established at this point, which is exactly why I don't want to lose them! I know this means they are stronger too, but they look so damn good after three years and c...

Re: Triclopyr safe to use near hydrangea?
Thanks, Morpheus. Regarding your last comment...recommended application is 1 gallon per 200 square feet. Any idea how much you would reduce that by?

Re: Triclopyr safe to use near hydrangea?
Do My Own said not to do it. They recommended hand pulling and spring and fall applications of pre-emergent. My plan for now is to spray the clover with Triclopyr and stay several feet away from the edge where the hydrangea roots are. That leaves about 180 square feet of clover that will go untreate...

Triclopyr safe to use near hydrangea?
I've got a major clover issue to deal with right now. I have a line of Hydrangeas that line my walkway, and the grass edge is about a foot from the base of the plants, and the leaves of the plants are actually closer to the grass. I know from recently re-edging that the roots of the plants are under...

Re: AndyV 2021 Soil Test
Andy, thanks for that. Even without all of the nuance, I think I got your point. I know it will take years to get the roadside OM up, thankfully the rest is not that awful. It's helpful to know that Humic is part of an overall regimen. I will start the Humic (I have local access to the Anderson's pr...

Re: AndyV 2021 Soil Test
Andy, I had a chance to do some reading on Humic. I read through your thread and obviously there are good benefits to it, and I did read your bullet points. Yet I am not sure I understand exactly what it is doing. Is it just raising TEC as a crutch until you get better OM%, or is it actually raising...

Re: Matted down, yellowed patches in lawn
Thanks. That's what I figured. I did plant a blend, but I have no idea how much of the KBG actually germinated. I'm not counting on much spread, but thankfully I have plenty of leftover to overseed these patches. The positive of needing to over seed will be that I can be ruthless digging up the wild...

Re: Matted down, yellowed patches in lawn
Morpheus, let me know if these photos are helpful. The rest of the lawn looks amazing, which is why these concern me at this point. I had a lot more of these patches two weeks ago, but nothing seems to be happening in these spots. The rest has greened up perfectly and is ready to cut. https://i.post...

That would be great. I haven't done much reading on Humic, so if you'd rather point me to an existing thread, please let me know. Otherwise, let's discuss here.
