Re: Lysol for cleaning mower blades
Thanks Morph. I'm trying to find uses for it. It's like a gallon jug. It would take me forever to use it up.

Lysol for cleaning mower blades
My neighbor gave me a big jug of Lysol. Since it is anti bacterial I was wondering if I could spray the underside of my mower and the blades to disinfect it? Of course I would hose it off after. Thanks

Mowing every 3-4 days. Been working on terminating Poa A plants but can't really see them with the billions of KBG seedheads.

Annual flower seeds
Quic question. I usually put my annual seeds in the garden the first week in May. Since it was so mild this winter and still is, I'm wondering if it would be OK to plant them now? Reasoning would be I would get blooms sooner. Thanks!

Re: Using someone else's leaves
I have been collecting them from my neighbors for 6 years. They have maples and oaks. They like it because it saves them the work. Never had any problems what so ever.

Mowed yesterday. took off about 3/8 " I might have to cut one more time. The grass growth has slowed a lot but it has been very mild here. I'm usually done with the last cut by now but we shall see.

Re: Average First Frost Date vs Real First Frost Date
I mulch everything but I threw the bag on today and definitely getting clippings in it. I compared cut and uncut strips side by side. Not much difference. looks like I won't have to cut for maybe another 2-3 days which will be 5-6 days since last cut. Last fert was Oct 11. Man that took awhile.

I'm riding along shotgun with edslawn. With maples and oaks in my yard and both of my neighbors I spent most of the day carting their leaves into my yard for mulching tomorrow after they dry out. That's just the beginning. LOL

FAS application
My lawn doesn't seem to be as dark as it was several weeks ago. I have been thinking about doing a FAS app. My ph is 6.3 and iron is high. I'm wondering if I would be wasting my time? With the PH at 6.3 and high iron (245) availability shouldn't be a problem. Thoughts?

agree. I'm also in CJ. We haven't had rain in a month! I let mine get a little crispy. I give it a half inch every couple weeks. It's crazy. All the rain has been above me. Bergen county, and below in Monmouth and Ocean County!

Dropped half app of Oceangro fert ( our version of Milo and Baystate here in Jersey). Just a little snack and will probably give it another half app next month. Same thoughts as K&N. Don't want to push a lot of growth.
