Re: Reading and Interpreting Fertilizer Labels

Will you be reviewing the pros/cons of the different forms of nitrogen as we go on? Besides the different forms being used to either "stabilize" or "slow its release", I am curious if there are other factors to consider as a consumer.

Thanks Andy!

3.25" through Labor Day and 2.25" by end of October. Thinking of trying to stay at 2.25" all of next year.

Bacillus amyloliquefaciens D747?

I have run out of biofungicide and need to pick some up to get through the rest of the season. Before I purchased more Serenade I was looking at different options and came across "Bacillus amyloliquefaciens D747" - a biological fungicide marketed by Southern Ag. I found a presentation online ( http:...

Re: N-Ext products

I got the Soil Activator Pack (RGS, D-Thatch, Air8, and GreeNe EfFect) from Pete at GCI. I was out of the ingredients I would usually purchase from Kelp-4-Less and Brambleberry to make BLKH and BLSC, I had some thatch build up, and I wanted to try FAS, so the pack was a good fit. The price seemed re...

Re: Price Check, Isle 4?

I bought TKO Phosphite 2 years ago on Amazon.com for ~$140 with Prime. The local distributor wanted $125 but refused to sell to a homeowner. $85 delivered seems like a great price.

The Serenade price is the same as I have paid the last 2 years.

Re: Irrigation system quotes - reasonable?

I have a 1/3 acre lot with 9.5K and was just quoted $6K (would have been $5K supposedly if I didn't want the hell strips included). Can anyone recommend someone in the Milwaukee area?

Essential oils to control insects?

We have a lot of "bugs" in our yard that result in multiple bug bites every time the kids play in the yard. The common chemical "solution" seems to be bifenthrin (I would pick up the Ortho Bug Be Gon at HD) but other posts indicate it also negatively impacts beneficial insects. Is there an advantage...

Re: Building new home, comes with centipede

I would suggest talking to the builder, and HOA if necessary, as Mitten suggested to understand the real requirement. Perhaps Centipede is required but my experience indicates it may not be. We built a home 3 years ago and were told that using the builder's vendor to seed Northern Mix was "required"...

Wetting agent and fert same time?

Would there be any reason I should not apply a wetting agent (Scotts EveryDrop to be specific) at the same time as an organic fertilizer or grains?

For those interested, these are the changes in the "K10" vs "K9" HRR mower: • Textured mower deck paint. • Color changed from Rose Champagne to Emboss Bright Gray Metallic (NH-B67M) • Tire tread changed to improve traction. • Wheel hub color changed to Vintage Gray (NH-462R) • One piece rear handle ...

Re: Seed choice new construction

Congrats kbgfamer on the new home! I had a Madison-based landscaping contractor to seed my new construction lawn about 2.5 years ago with seed from Seed Superstore. The contractor obviously was used to using their NoMix and, although they tried to seed at 2.5# per K, they ended up seeding at 7.5# pe...

New "K10" Honda HRR Mowers

I was looking at lawn mowers on Honda's website and noticed they released version "K10" of the HRR line. I didn't notice anything different beyond aesthetic changes. Does anyone have additional information? Honda's PR site hasn't mentioned the change. https://s18.postimg.cc/z13ss7ud1/Honda_HRR216_K1...

Re: Equipment recommendatons?

My two cents... Regarding the lawnmower, isn't the TimeCutter is a zero-turn? Toro has the Recycler and SuperRecycler (SR) line of walk-behind mowers. The SR has a cast aluminum deck, "clipping accelerators" under the deck that theoretically improve mulching, potentially better engines and self-prop...
