Re: Grub-ex watering requirements....

Thanks for the reply, I didn't want to take a chance. I reapplied yesterday and watered it in 1". We have rain on the way today; not even close to 1", so I figure the rain will just help push it down. I forgot what a pain it was to hand water 1" into the hell strips. Re: Help! Yellowing happens every YR after reseeding!

when did the grass turn yellow; in the spring or during the summer? Same thing happened to me, I had great coverage right to my sidewalk in the fall, then all of a sudden the grass seemed to burn out. I didnt use starter fertilizer and watered enough to cause POA. So I don't think it was either one ...

I put down grub-ex again, but not counting on the rain this time. Watered it in good right away, between 0.5" today and what we get for rain tomorrow it should get watered in this time.

Re: 2016: What did you do to or on your lawn today?

Cut the lawn. I have been waiting for the grass to thicken up and get to 3", but don't seem to be cutting much at 3". I gave in and lowered my mower to 2.5", still waiting for a spring flush. Maybe the Tenacity I sprayed to mark the POA messed that up. I see way too much grubex still on the lawn, go...

Grub-ex watering requirements....

Put down some Grub-ex Monday expecting more rain than what we got. We got like .30 inches with more on the way this weekend. I noticed a lot of little grains still in the yard.

Should I try watering the grub-ex in today or hope the rain gets it this weekend?

Re: 2016: What did you do to or on your lawn today?

Expecting some decent rain tomorrow, put down grub-ex and cut a small area I over-seeded with the Fiskar mower. I am lost on what to do about the POA, the Tenacity I put down kicked in and everything just looks bad. I could start spot spraying, but think I might be getting to the 16oz limit when I r...

Re: Poa failure cluster#$&* 2016

I am starting to find that if I just look at the lawn in the early morning and twilight it looks really good, just can't look at it during the day, when the POA really stands out ;-)

Re: Poa failure cluster#$&* 2016

Pre-emergents are the primary weapon to fight poa annua. Keeping a barrier up in spring and fall are key. So how do you ever seed or over-seed then? If you put a pre-m down in March, you can't seed. Don't put down your pre-m and risk crab grass. If you put a pre-m down in August, you throw away pri...

Do use a surfactant when you mix Tenacity for spot spraying?

Re: Grub-Ex Timing...

I guess it's Monday for me, rain is scheduled for Tuesday.

Will this do any harm to some small spots I patches up with new seed?

Grub-Ex Timing...

Anyone put down Grub-ex yet?

Anyone know the typical timing to put this down in Massachusetts / New England?

Re: Does cold effect Tenacity?

I thought i read u need rain within so many days of putting down? We have had some warm days, grass is growing sluggish, and don't not see any effect at all. The seed heads and color make the POA stand out like a sore thumb, yet know effect on anything. Going to give it a few more days than try agai...

Re: 2016: What did you do to or on your lawn today?

Mowed the lawn, still not getting much top growth. I didn't add any fertilizer yet, maybe the grass is just growing at the roots. Still Nice One! sign of my Tenacity spraying to pot the POA, I can see it plain as day, but its not doing nothing. I gave up on the sections I format seeded. We have some...

I used Bonide Turbo Spreader Sticker and a fan tip nozzle. I used dye with it and it seemed like I got good coverage.

Re: Why doesn't my grass stand up?

Do you switch up your pattern when you cut? Switch up your cutting pattern, I will rotate what direction I cut at every time. I had something like that last year when I over-seeded and let the existing grass get too long because I was trying to protect the seedlings. The fast growing rye was laying ...

Re: Does cold effect Tenacity?

Good to know, I thought something was up with my yard. Things greened up but no big top growth. Only thing growing is the POA.

I seeded my sisters lawn and nothing so far, i figured we have been warm enough, maybe not.

Ill wait another week, hopefully I didnt waste 4oz of my 16oz allowance.

Does cold effect Tenacity?

I sprayed Tenacity last week, I shot for the 4oz rate over 1,000sf. I had to rush it as it was going to rain the next day and it was the only rain forecast for a week. The thing is 7 days later the POA and their seed heads laughing at me and I don't notice any whitening at all even though I have a l...

Re: Oh boy town installing new sidewalk...

I used to do surveying and construction. Every road right of way is different, there is no standard distance from the sidewalk or curb to a property line. It can be anything. You can go to the city or town dew and ask for the layout width, but that won't work if the street isn;t in the middle of the...

Picked up 15 bags of BSF in quincy; half for me, half for family. I still can't get over how cheap this stuff is.

Re: Warmer temperature is better for Tenacity to control poa

So it seems to say that in warmer months hit it more often with smaller doses. I think tired someone doing that on here.

The thing is do you hold off until it's warmer, or hit it right away with frequent smaller doses?

Im going to have to read that all again....
