Re: Tricks to make drop spreader wheel marks more visible?
Correct, the nice thing about Scotts drop spreader is that they have alignment marks on the front that your supposed to line up with the wheel marks left on the turf. When the grass is short and dry, at least in my case, I have a very hard time seeing the wheel marks, and thus my alignment can get a...

Re: Tricks to make drop spreader wheel marks more visible?
Yes, I'm very interested in this. I was thinking about attaching something to the spreader to drop lime or something (just enough to be noticed), based on the wheels turning, but if someone's already done it, i'd love to learn from them.

Re: Anybody have a lawn irrigation system on a well?
I'm running my irrigation system off a well right now. It was here when I moved in, so I don't now a whole lot about it, but if you ask questions, I can look up things for you.

Tricks to make drop spreader wheel marks more visible?
Any one have any good tricks for making drop spreader wheel tracks more visible (for alignment of overlap)? I know about making the lawn wet, but any other tricks? I tried weighing down the spreader as well, but that's just more work and doesn't help as much as I thought it would.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Let's talk rain gauges
Tall, skinny with narrow mouth. I don't think the rain cares how small the opening is...as long as it is bigger then the rain drop. I have a bunch of these: http://www.amazon.com/Chaney-Instrument-Capacity-Easy-Read-Magnifying/dp/B000A3IMP2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1348319734&sr=8-1&keywords=rain+gau...

Overseed when the existing grass is wet?
Hey Folks, I'm gonna try to finish my overseeding tomorrow morning, since I won't be home the next to evenings to get it done. The grass will be fairly dewey. Is this a bad idea? Will the seed stick to the existing grass, rather than make it down to the soil? Will it fall to the soil once the grass ...

Re: Watering for overseeding
Do you have a plan for mowing when the mature grass is 4" tall and the new grass is germinating or extremely young? No. How is this typically handled? Most like to use a manual reel mower since there is no suction involved it leaves the seedbed alone. OK, I'll see if I can get my hands on one. I'm ...

Watering for overseeding
Hello, I will be overseeding in the next few days. I know I have to keep the seeds moist during this time, but isn't this bad for the existing grass? I had fungus problems over the late spring and summer, and I'm concerned about what till happen watering so frequently to keep the new seed moist. Sho...

Re: Overseeding rate for these two mixes?
Oh, I didn't actually plan to mix these mixes together, but essentially seed certain sections of my lawn based on sun exposure. Is that a bad idea, it's that going to look silly? I plan on "feathering" the two types together in the transition zone. I've attached a diagram of my plan... Thanks! http:...

Overseeding rate for these two mixes?
Hi all! I'm new around here, and I have lots of questions. I think I was bitten by the lawn perfection bug. I will be overseeding in the next few days or so (I've dethanced and aeratored), I have just received my order of seed from Hogan :yahoo:. I got a Sunny mix, and a Dense Shade mix. I did this ...
