Re: Earthway 2170 with added pro shutoff
When you say it's not perfect, do you mean the retrofit on the 2170, or the system in general?

Re: EarthWay Broadcast Spreader users...
The individual shut off applies only to some models, and I don't believe either of those you posted will have it. I ordered a 2170 and it doesn't, but I have ordered the parts to convert it because I want that feature after seeing my father's C22HD that does have it. [ Post made via Android ] http:...

How much time to get one inch from your irrigation?
Like you said, it's dependant on to many variables, but it takes several hours for me to get an inch for one zone. I'm fact, I've never run out long enough to complete the tuna can test either. I'm on a well, so that has a lot to do with it. I too have 13 zones but most have hunter pgps.

Interesting, can you post a link to this sprayer? I'm interested, but a quick Google search didn't turn up anything relevant.dfw_pilot wrote: The 2170 will also allow for a drop in sprayer tank that the 2150 cannot accept.

Re: To edge or no edge around walks?
TT, how does something like that do on curves? I had a McLane similar to that, it's very difficult to use on curves. Sold the McLane for that reason and moved to an Echo PAS with the edger attachment, much better. Something like http://www.homedepot.com/p/ECHO-17-in-21-2-cc-Gas-PAS-Trimmer-and-Edge...

Re: To edge or no edge around walks?
It seems every year I make the mistake of trying to edge my hell strips. My backyard edges nice and clean with a hand rotary edger, I finally figured out the trick to get a clean edge. So I attempt to do the front and all I do is butcher the grass because the concrete sidewalks have uneven edges. I...

Re: Summit no longer selling retail
I don't know if this is news to you or not but I contacted Summit today and they say no more mail order retail sales. They said if you are in Indiana or Illinois they have some retailers there. They suggested Super seed store to shop and they stated they have no affiliation with them. Something to ...

Re: Bewitched, has yours woken up yet?
I did 5 test plots of Bewitched last year and it's growing like crazy. I have yet to fertilize this year as well. I applied synthetic fertilizer last November. I plan of fertilizing next week with Milo. I can't believe you have not needed to mow yet. This is the time when typically you are mowing e...

Re: Ken-n-Nancy's 2015 Side Yard Reno - Bewitched KBG
Bewitched is very slow out of the gate. It scores among the worst in Spring green up, so you have to stay on top of poa that is trying to join the party. Once it gets going though you should be in good shape. I still have about 50% lawn area (mostly in the shadier areas) that hasn't been hit by the...

Re: Calibrating Spreader for Different Material?
The lazy man method works great for a small lawn but is impractical on a large lawn. I have an Earthway 2170 and a large lawn and find the Earthway settings charts to be great references. However, the charts don't factor in your path spacing, so you have no choice but to calibrate or learn thru exp...

Re: ReD-BaRoN's soil test - Spring 2016
Thanks mattya and Andy. I will get on the Lime and Epsom. Based on what I can find, what rate of P should I be targeting per k, and at what frequency? BTW, I have a bunch of 19-19-19, should I discontinue the use of that, or can I get away with one more 1lb per application before getting K too high?...

ReD-BaRoN's soil test - Spring 2016
Hey folks, It's that time of year again. Here's my spring 2016 test. http://s23.postimg.cc/49h983vwn/Brian_Davis_Soil_20160414_74663_Page_1.jpg Unfortunately, I didn't get much down last year, some triple 10 @ 1lbs/per, and some BayState. Hope to turn it around this season. I did over-seed and top d...

Too late for lime/Epsom
Hey Folks,
I've got lime and Epsom sitting in the garage that I never got around to putting down this season. I'm in central mass, would putting it down now be a waste, or will it still be effective?

They aren't very big, so I could pull them out by hand. The area isn't that large either, so it's manageable. Mostly worried about walking all over the seedlings.
