Re: Escondido Gardener Year 3 Soil Test Results
Hi Andy - I have posted to the queue. Overall both lawns have shown growth but it's quite slow. Not overseeding with winter rye has had a huge effect on the green up. I am happy so far and hope that as things heat up the Bermuda will fill in (quite a few places have clover and some other broadleaf w...

Re: Escondido Gardener Year 2 Soil Test Results
Applied the Gypsum without issue, the Ferous Sulfate is a sandy like powder which I had to broadcast by hand....
Should I stay on a 60 day schedule with the fast acting gypsum and is hand broadcasting the iron my best option?
Thanks Andy

Ok, I'll use the SOP+Urea for borax application
How does 25lb per 5k every 2 months sound for the Gypsum?

Re: Escondido Gardener Year 2 Soil Test Results
Hi Andy -
I have 3 bags of the fast acting gypsum pictured above. Just confirming two things:
1) Application is high bag rate every 60 days.
2) Can I use this gypsum as the "vehicle" for applying the 20 mule team borax?
Thanks in advance,
J

Re: Escondido Gardener Year 2 Soil Test Results

My new plan is Monthly 2lbs per 1k of SOP 2lbs per 1k of Urea Every 6 weeks Ferrous Sulfate 2lbs per 1k Every 60 days Boron 3 tablespoons per 1k High bag rate pelletized Gypsum This ...

Re: Escondido Gardener Year 2 Soil Test Results
Hi Andy The only difference this year is I sampled at 4 in, last year I sampled at 6 in could that be the answer? I literally used a tape measure both times. I did 15 samples the first year and maybe eight samples this year That's the only difference I can see. I have two large commercial landscapin...

Soil Conditioner & Kelp Help = Made & Stored together?
I am 2 hours in reading posts about BLSC and KH. I really want to store both of these together in a large plastic jerry can with a spigot. I cannot find anything that says one way or the other. Can these these be made and stored together? I would leave the molasses out and use only when applying to ...

Re: Top-dress with which product?
How do you feel about 90% canadian fur shavings and 10% manure? This was the companies recommendation. I have no experience with fir shavings as a compost ingredient.

BLSC-KH EBay Cart
Many of the ebay links from the original recipe were dead when I tried using them today. Can anyone help me confirm that these are the correct products? Also, I just read a post from 2017 that said the Yucca extract is not used anymore in the soil conditioner recipe, is that true? Thanks in advance,...

Top-dress with which product?
I have a local soil supplier near me and I cannot figure out which product is best for increasing the oragnic material content of my lawn. I tried speaking with someone but got more or less "anything we sell will help" response. Here is my soil report from Apri https://i.postimg.cc/nMQpZjhD/Jayson-K...

Re: Warm season grass on a budget with mix of sun/shade
I'm back ...talked with both neighbors and neither have ever cultivated front or back lawns. Neighbor to my right has a patch of similar native grass that he calls common burmuda. No one on my street has ever heard of Zoysia. Here are 2 more photo's of the unidentified warm season grass that has tak...
