Re: I need some serious help - flowerbed seeding
I'm not a pro, but I'll throw in my 2 cents. First, you have a nice, thick looking lawn there. Great job. As for the questions about planting in the mulch or Milorganite, don't do it. To get good results, you need to seed into soil. Why do you replace mulch every year? You replace it because it deca...

I bet I have a couple dozen in my boxwoods alone. Go out and pick one up in your hand, and you'll be able to tell for sure.

Those photos look like spider webs, not fungus. I get the same thing on boxwoods, ivy, etc.

EH Griffith has it for $70. I don't know what shipping would be though. I buy it there locally, and it's a few dollars less.

Re: Stihl FS 56 trimmer
The Ugly Line I'm using has edges. It's kind of triangular in cross section. Seems to make a cleaner cut. Plus it seems to be tougher and last longer. I trim up against brick houses and walls, and it doesn't wear out as fast as others. Lowe's carries it.

Re: Stihl FS 56 trimmer
So without much research I stopped at a Stihl dealer and bought my first gas trimmer in 20 years. I have only used it once but my thinking right now is that it may not be the right tool for me. When trying to gently trim the grass around obstacles the lines spin so fast that they create a gust of w...

Re: 2 cycle/4 cycle vs. electric
Sold my craftsman Weed-eater with edger attachment and craftsman leaf blower today. I'll be using the cash to finally get the Stihl BG55 I've been looking at for months. I'll finally have all Stihl 2-cycle equipment. Yay! I stopped at my Stihl dealer today and they already sold out of the BG55s. I ...

1950. The land, which is adjacent to Pittsburgh's Frick Park, was previously woodland. Frick Park was previously the estate of the industrialist Henry Clay Frick, one-time chairman of Carnegie Steel.

I'm still using a LawnBoy rear bagger like that (but not bagging). My son, however, was nowhere to be found when it was mowing time.

Re: What is this weed?; Growing Midnight Kentucky bluegrass
If that's wheat straw, the weed is likely wheat. If it's oat straw, the weed is likely oats. If it's rye straw, well, you get the idea.
