Re: Milorganite stroage
Never a problem storing it in my shed or garage over winter (or any season for that matter), 1 or 100 bags at a time.

Re: Leaf Mulching...
Don't worry about it if about 10% of the leaves on the lawn somehow "escape" the mulcher or otherwise end up in quarter-leaf sized pieces rather than dime-sized ones. You'll be mulching again soon (I do so about every 4 days), so you don't need to mulch up every leaf at every mowing. At this time o...

Re: Tenacity vs. weeds in my yard
When white turns to brown (tan), you know you're making good progress.
Don't wait too long for that second app! You want to get it down when the weeds start to show sign of recovery, not after they've recovered. I try to keep my modest apps spaced 10–14 days apart.

Re: My first time Tenacity experience
I've given you my answer to that question numerous times: creeping bentgrass. Similarly, nimblewill/nimbleweed. I've also had seemingly good results on poa annua, but I find them inconclusive because poa annua is an annual and dies off on its own in summer and because it seeds so readily. With the p...

Re: Kelp Help/Shampoo mix on new grass?
I find # of mowings to be a laughable guideline. Obviously, it's meant to be a crude visual guideline for the typical homeowner who doesn't know much else...or who doesn't mow as frequently as some of us. With a PGR thrown in to the mix, # of mowings as a guideline should be thrown out completely. Y...

Re: My first time Tenacity experience
I'm quite familiar with the label. Yes, it does claim that Tenacity kills white clover, and it is capable of doing just that. I've killed white clover using Tenacity alone...with diligence and several applications. It's just not the logical choice for killing white clover. I'm on my 5th bottle of Te...

Re: My first time Tenacity experience
... and this $60 bottle seems to do jack $%#%@ to combat it. That's the point. You're wasting money (and confusing newbies) by throwing Tenacity at crabgrass and clover. The consensus of this forum based on repeated success is to use triclopyr (e.g. CCO, Turflon Ester) to battle clover and quinclor...

Re: My first time Tenacity experience
In my experience, nothing clearly dies after just one application let alone after only 14 days. Except maybe yellow nutsedge. I try to get in the second app around day 10 because, yes, by 14 days I generally see recovery. Followed by a third app. I always see far more bleaching of white clover after...

Re: Help calculating Lime
This is getting the cart ahead of the horse, as you don't want to buy any of this before getting your soil test results. Exactly. And in the meantime, start using the search function of these forums to find the answers to such frequently and recently asked questions as: ...where can you buy that mu...

Re: Help calculating Lime
It is the Soil Doctor....if I need dolomitic lime, is there a better product to get? Nope. Good stuff for what it is, which is a cheap, slow-acting lime. You just need a ton of it, literally, to make a difference. And even then, it takes six months to years for it to make a difference. It takes for...

Re: Milorganite and Weed B Gon
The microbes that make up Milorganite are long dead, killed during the production. Watch the video that was recently posted here. Milorganite is not living like a biofungicide. It's a fertilizer. It's meant to be broken down.
You're good.

Re: Help calculating Lime
I do have dolomitic lime. I read the chemical analysis and don't understand how this will increase my Mg but keep my Ca low. It looks like the calcium (21.6%) is a lot more thatn the Magnesium (8%). That's the higher (highest) percentage of magnesium that you can get with basic (cheap) lime. That l...

That's a lot of something. Unfortunately, it's probably too early to tell. So many dicots (broadleaf weeds) start out looking like that before they develop their familiar form.

Re: Any pics of Tenacity bleaching after Day 30 spray?
For the record, the label states: "Wait until the newly germinated turf has been mowed two times or four weeks after emergence (whichever is longer) before making a postemergence application." 30 days after seed date would be way too soon for a grass that could easily take 2–3 weeks to germinate (em...

Any idea where to buy Urea? Does Achille have it? Not that I plan to put that down on my yard just yet...I have some work to do until I get to that point but I'm just curious if you were able to find it.

Re: Help calculating Lime
Thanks for the reply TimmyG. I was just trying to get a rough estimate so I would know how many pallets of Bay State to get next year. A pallet is a ton. There are fifty 40-lb bags of Bay State per pallet. BTW, when delivered (one pallet at a time), the driver has unloaded each bag off the back of ...
