Re: Tenacity --Monitoring
Did my first app of tenacity today for Poa A & T. This is after doing 2 apps earlier in the spring of certainty. What was great was that I could use a tracker with the tenacity. With certainty I had to create a grid using string and stakes. That was time consuming and a PITA. It was great to be able...

Re: Anyone loving their color now?
I am loving the deep blue/green color of my lawn. That might have something to do with the Lesco blue tracker that I sprayed on it this morning with my tenacity. Even the dead triv is now a beautiful green.

Re: Frost Advisory!!
I'll trade you our 98 degree days and 75 degree nights with high humidity. It's a little early this year, but July and August around here can be a beast. I would not survive in that climate. I can take the cold, but I really suffer in the heat. The bigger problem with Syracuse is not so much the co...

You have got to be kidding me. A frost advisory? We were in the 90s the last few days.

Re: Out of Certainty. Switch to Tenacity?
Ok, last idea from me!! Have you ever used a construction laser? Nice. I am always looking for a reason to buy a new toy - I mean tool. I would need two of them though, to create the left and right boundary. It would need to go at least 100 ft or so. Please keep the ideas coming. The neighbors who ...

Re: Out of Certainty. Switch to Tenacity?
On a related note, my schedule was to hit the Triv every 2 weeks with certainty. Beacuse of work and the rain, there was a section that had to wait more like 16 days rarther than 14 for the 2nd app. And boy could you see a difference. The section that had to wait 2 extra days had several areas of he...

Re: Out of Certainty. Switch to Tenacity?
Forgive me for being a cheap redneck, but my step-dad is a marine who used the word "improvise" every other day. In my family we call that "pulling a grandpa." Which usually means fixing soemthing with bailing wire and duct tape - like my grandfather always did. Could you use the riding mower and a...

Re: Out of Certainty. Switch to Tenacity?
Yes, you can use a Tracker, and it does make enough of a difference. excellent. So, I'll pick up the Lesco tracker and some more surfactant. Given what I am trying to accomplish, at what rate and frequency would you guys recommend? Besides the tracker and surfactant, anything else I should add to t...

Re: Out of Certainty. Switch to Tenacity?
Given that Tenacity seems to be as effective as Certainty on Triv, with the added benefits of being effective on Poa A, more gentle and less expensive ... I would be ok "starting over" with a new Tenacity routine. One factor that would really seal the deal for me is if you told me that I could use T...

Out of Certainty. Switch to Tenacity?
I just completed the 2nd of three certainty applications to kill my Poa Triv. Problem is that I used up all the certainty. I have a large yard and did two apps last year as well. Instead of buying more certainty for the 3rd app, can I switch to tenacity? Any reason to stick with the certainty or can...

Re: fertilizing landsacpe shrubs, trees, perennials
+1 Simpson. I'm never that exact, I just throw the stuff on them when I feed the lawn. I use lawn rate for anything I'm happy with, two to four times that for anything I want to grow some more. Soy, alfalfa, Milorganite, Ringers, it's all great. Do you work it under the mulch or let it sit on top?

fertilizing landsacpe shrubs, trees, perennials
We had a bunch of new landscape beds planted last fall and I am wondering what I should be doing in terms of fertilizer. I am hoping that I can use one all purpose (preferably organic) fertilizer for all of them. Here's a list of what I have: hydrangea, roses, black eyed susans, day lillys, junipers...

Re: Which spreader would you buy
I plan to buy a Lesco brand one with a 50lb hopper for about $180. I like to be able to try these things out before I buy and there's no way to do that with the Earthway. I hate my scotts and cant wait to kick it to the curb.

I was out spraying certainty with my backpack sprayer, and a grid of twine layed out in they yard so that I didnt overlap. My wife came out on the deck. Watched me for a minute, shook her head and went back inside without saying a word. Mostly, my neighbors are too polite to say much of anything - t...

Re: Apply Tenacity on top of Certainty?
I'll take some pics tomorrow when the light is better, but the triv is definitely hurting. The real grass is looking good thanks to the iron. It's kind of hard to judge right now though because we have had so much rain and so little sun that I think the lawn is stressed just from that.
