Re: Round Up Alternative
If She is against RU is she also against herbicides? If you don’t burn down the existing lawn you have to learn to live with the mix stand. Solar burn down of 15k is not practical. Nothing wrong if you want 100% chem free but realistically there are limits to how far you can get by doing so. Mother ...

Re: HOC for fungicide app
Not sure it it makes a difference with the HOC but be prepared for two or three apps to stop the dollar spot if you have a lot of it. Walking, mowing, etc can spread it around. Bagging is a good idea for now. I bailed on the low dose big box products and went with Propiconazole 14.3 and then rotated...

Re: Tenacity Expiration Date
Selfsame answer. I'm still working on my first bottle, vintage 2011 or so--ish. It still works like the day I bought it, and my storage is awful. In the garage, which oscillates between below freezing and above ninety. So far, I'm finding most of the standard herbicides, most of which I keep around...

Re: Tenacity on newly seeded lawn
I’m going to disagree about Tenacity not wiping out crabgrass on an existing lawn. Ive had Quinclorac fail to kill the mature stuff. Three apps of Tenacity and it wiped out my crabgrass and by late summer I had a weed free lawn. Spring seeding was my only option that year. I documented the whole thi...

Thanks all. I bought some Disease Ex, so will likely give that a try. Re: Fescue Lawn Care | Northern VA
Heat and humidity create the conditions for fungus. Serenade is a preventative for fungus. Too late for that Propiconizole is a fungicide. You can buy the bottle or granular form at Lowe’s but it’s not as good as the 14.3% I mentioned above. It won’t kill your lawn as Long as it’s not Pythiumor acth...

Re: Fescue Lawn Care | Northern VA
That’s a fungus. Get propoconizole down ASAP. Use the generic 14.3% from site own on domyown.com
You’ll need two apps to get it stopped.

Huma Gro Breakout and Curiousity are what I’m using every 10 days getting my lawn whipped back into shape after some fungus damage.
Also using RGS once a month.
No full apps of synthetic until late August

Re: Propiconazole add surfactant?
I've always watered it in without surfactant. Although I did read a couple things today that have me wondering, FWIW: "Propiconazole is readily absorbed by plant tissues, and is transported systemically within the plant. Thus, leaves that emerge following the application will also be protected from...

Re: Extremely dry weather - irrigation plan
I love how all the folks with trees [banned word] about how tough it is with shade, and all the folks with full-sun say how lucky the folks with trees are. Well in spring and fall the sun exposure is a huge advantage. In the heat of summer >90F days on cool season grasses having some shade definite...

Re: Extremely dry weather - irrigation plan
Yeah, it's been very dry for New Hampshire. NH usually gets at least 4" of natural rainfall in June. I had been hoping for one of those downpours here on Wednesday or Thursday but they missed us. The local town water supplies have implemented bans of all outdoor water use - not just an odd/even sch...
