Re: Greenrebellion's Fall 2017 Renovation
Perhaps you should rethink your fertilizer strategy. High N & P is only going to further encourage the growth of the Annua.

Not bad! Soil temps must be horrendous.
Hopefully the moderating temps will help those babies get going.

Re: Greenrebellion's Fall 2017 Renovation
Good plan. Even if there is some effect on the KBG from the Tenacity it should be far outweighed by getting the POA under control.
The below normal temps we are currently experiencing are actually a good thing for your plan.

One are is maybe 12' x 20' and there are other areas maybe half that size. It doesn't help that most of the soil is junk. According to the soil test it's a sandy loam. It packs really tight . I tilled areas last fall and those areas are already getting pretty hard. Not as hard as the areas I mentio...

I can't help on the evening app effectiveness but want to say I totally agree with your plan. If you feel you have to make those later October Tenacity apps I'm with you on that as well. Now get going on an aggressive fert schedule!
Best of luck!

Re: Greenrebellion's Fall 2017 Renovation
I like K & N's plan of starting half rate fertilizer apps but stop the 10-10-10 and switch to Urea or Ammonium Sulfate. You don't need/want more P & K at this point.

Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?
Had to mow last night. Despite having made a recent PGR app the lawn grew 1.5" in the full sun areas in 4 days. Started Milo 3 weeks ago with 2 apps down so far at just under double bag rate. I'm thinking the combination of rain, great temps and the Milo over road the PGR. It has been a very mild su...

Re: Advice needed: Award or midnight for northern Indiana?
Regarding the soil report. You can ignore their recommendations on 12-12-12 and 0-0-60. Those are for incorporating into the soil ie, tilling in to a depth of 6". For surface application the amounts are smaller and more often. Also, don't combine 12-12-12 with 0-0-60 as you will end up applying way ...

Re: Tired of being a slave to my lawn!!!
My neighbor has a mostly fescue lawn with some rye and KBG mixed in that I cut for them when gone and I hate it! That grass is tough. It's not what I consider thick yet even when going slow with my HRR216 it does not mulch well. The only irrigation it gets is rainfall yet that stuff grows and seems ...

A few years back built a house in a subdivision that had a bad batch of cable installed. What a mess.
