Re: What did you do to or on your lawn today?
Solid rain in forecast for Thursday. I think I'm going to drop my Urea tomorrow afternoon. I'm subscribing to the recent article post by someone that going too early is better than going too late. What article said that? I've never heard of dropping traditional final winterizer in October successfu...

Re: Increasing organic matter
But what if: Benefit of getting OM 4" into the soil very quickly with core aeration is > cost of core aeration and churning up the weed seeds?

Re: Why is my new lawn yellowing???
Yellowing here too on a 9/15 planting. Have not mowed yet, looks a lot like OP's pic. I thought it may be lack of nutrition after my second starter app was washed in/out with a pretty hard rain. Gave it a third starter app, still yellow. I'm going with the frost thing. I recall in 2011? or so when w...

Re: What should I do now?
I had this question the other day in New England. Grass is up after 30 days, but not enough to mow. Will it make it? The popular opinion is that as long as it is up, it will make it just fine. It's the stuff that hasn't sprouted that won't make it, or won't come up until Spring.

Awesome KnN. That post/pic/info in your link was exactly what I wanted to see. Here's hoping my grass will be as strong as yours.

Will my KBG make it??
West/Central Mass. I planted about 2000 sqft of Valley Green 4 way KBG mix on Sept 13th. Surprisingly started to come up a week later, watered for 3 weeks until recently, great germination, but still only 1 to 2 inches and have not had my first mow . Did round 2 starter fert on 10-4. Forecast is for...

Welcome!
Glocks are illegal in Massachusetts, then again everything is illegal in Massachusetts.
Shot a guys Glock at the range once, very very nice for a ugly gun, <poke>.
I find guys either love Glocks or hate them, there's no real middle ground, lol.

x5 on the CCO.
...and on the natural side, obviously you can't overlook having thick roots/lush grass will keep out a lot of these tough weeds such as Creepinmg Charlie and Goose Grass. I have both these weeds on the edges of my yard, but the thick lawn keeps them well at bay.

Re: Backgrounds PLEASE for Soil Test Interpretations
<RANT ON> I'm sorry in advance, but there is a topic that's really bothering me... Lately we've seen a spate of postings by members that post a soil test for interpretation with a one-liner of "here's my 2015 soil test - thanks for the things you do". How on Earth anyone expects to have a member of...

Re: Anyone Ever Done a Copper-to-PEX Plumbing Conversion?
I've talked to a few plumbers about PEX. Not all are convinced the shark bite and PEX last as long copper and solder. Copper=old school, time tested, tried and true. If it were me I would probably go Copper in sealed up places that will hardly ever be accessed, and do the PEX/sharkbites where I know...

Re: Grub Control in MA
Based on this article below, I'd say yes. The article says it needs April/May rains to be watered in. LOL, and we've had none except for yesterday. http://www.turf.msu.edu/home-lawn-grub-control-products-2 I've always used the Bayer/Imidicloprid though, no experience with the new stuff. Based on the...

Re: Grub Control in MA
I'm an imidacloprid fan, too. For me in New Hampshire, the right time to apply imidacloprid, which is preventative for next year's grubs, rather than a treatment for this spring's grubs, is late June (up until about July 4th, as paulr mentions). My favorite article on grub treatment and prevention ...

Re: getting rid or reducing dandelion farm
Dandies are pretty much the easiest weed to get rid of. We're talking a trip to a big box store, taking a weed g gone product off of the shelf, paying for it, and then using it. Like Andy said, follow the triangle. Whatever weeds the WBG doesn't kill, move up the triangle. +1 I always used to be fr...

I use one of these, and mark it 'Chemicals only" with a skull and crossbones so the wife and kids don't run off with it.
