Spring Arrives tonight!

Astronomically speaking, at least. Earliest in over a century. March 19 if you are in Mountain time or west, March 20 for Central time and east.

I think HanLawn was closer to sending in Seal Team 6 into Pakistan to take out some terrorist weeds.

Re: xapabwa's Spring 2012 Soil Test

One thing I wish I would have learned about 40 years ago... was to mow the leaves into the lawn. I cannot tell you HOW MANY HOURS OF RAKING AND BURNING LEAVES I DID AS A KID /rant off

I really enjoy shredding them nowadays.

Thank you, that was one of the places that I found last night searching for sources. EH Griffith has it but I think you had to buy a minimum of a 2 @ 2.5 gal case.

Where did you order from? I would like to get some and do at least a couple of applications in April/May to see how it helps out before the summer fungalfest.

Giving this a bump up for any more feed back from users. Sounds like the time to add phosphite is around May?

Re: Time to Get Going on Soil Tests

I guess I'm just not a "Tool-Time" freak. I can't walk past an existing tool that could do the job, and then go buy a specialty tool that I use once a year. I'd rather buy additional nutrients with the $$$$. To each his own, I guess. I love multi-taskers! Another question, I did a soil test last su...

Thanks for sharing that information Andy! So we are entering "solar spring"... length of daylight in early February is the same early November (Feb 2 is about the same as Nov 8 for me)... Tenacity effectiveness should improve!

Re: Product of the Year.....Tenacity!

I applied yesterday as well (with the rest of the solution that I made up back in September) and will make another application in about 10 days... weather permitting. Highs are in the 51 to 65 F range and lows projected to be above freezing for the next 10 days.

Re: Product of the Year.....Tenacity!

At what temps can Tenacity be applied? I could not find that on the label. I have several patches of PA and would like to take them out if the mild winter continues. Our vinca minor is blooming right now! Weird winter weather so far.

Re: ok just winterized but 50-60s temp for next 10 days

there are two other things telling the grass it is time for a mid winters sleep - soil temp (around 40 F here in middle Tennessee) and day length (about 10 hrs here). My guys are very green but not growing very much at all now.
