Re: Mother Nature is hard to work with sometimes
I waited until last weekend to overseed as well (we were at 100 last week too). Now no rain forecast for the next 10 days. So hoses are everywhere!

Re: Fall Feeding and Seeding
I just measured the soil temp is 82 F here in Murfreesboro in MIDDLE Tennessee (I have no idea where central Tennessee is).... I seeded last year on 9/15 and the grass was up a week later. I have seeded as late as 10/31 but that grass took forever to germinate. The high-end germination temp for fesc...

Re: A little confused about May fertilization
Thanks guys that makes sense... last year I fertilized with syn in the spring and had problems in the summer. I read in the Purdue paper that it was bad to force growth with syn going into summer. So using the milorganite sounds like the way to go.

A little confused about May fertilization
My lawn is still growing vigorously, cutting it every 4 days at 3" (since mid March). I seeded last Sept 15, fertilized then with starter, then in October with Milorganite, then in late November with synthetic... The book says to fertilize on Memorial Day, but - if I fertilize (MIlorganite, love the...

Re: Chickweed
That would kill a whole lot of Chickweed. Like a patch the size of Montana. Almost! Actually treats about 200,000 sq ft or 4.5 acres. I just went with the regular TBK myself, I have some tough speedwell that must have a little http://www.mannythemovieguy.com/images/arnold.schwarzenegger-terminator-...

I went to pick up the yucca extract at Lesco (aka John Deere Landscapes) and it was $48.78 out the door. Total cost per gal for Bestlawn Soil Conditioner came to $10.55/gal.... Bestlawn Kelp Help with Humates $4.13/gal.

Yes thanks for mentioning Lesco, I was having trouble finding that stuff so I gave them a call (could not find it on their website). And thanks to everyone who provided the recipes, application rates, etc.
