Re: Serenade Sticker Shock, any big box sources?

Andy,
I received mine from 7 Springs within a week. I'd forgotten how...distinctive...Serenade smells!

Ooops, sorry, I see that you want to *raise* your soil's pH. Never mind. :banghead:

Re: Professional sports fields - pH maintenance?

Hi Bales, I am probably as far from an expert as you will find here, but I have the same issue as you and have done a lot of research about it. From my 4 soil tests between 2014 and 2017, my average soil pH is 7.7 :( I, too was desperate to find a way to lower the pH, and I believed some sites which...

FWIW, I paid less than $5 more for the 2.5 gallons from 7 Springs Farm, compared to 3 years ago.

Re: Snow on May 9th? Really?

I guess that I'm going to have to haul in the sod pots. Also, between the Kung Flu virus and cold weather, the golf course that I work at has gotten precious little play so far this year. I'm told that the greens and fairways have never looked so good. :banghead:

Back From the Dead and Ready to Party

Hello Everybody! It's been a long hiatus, both from the Forum and and from the lawn. Mostly boring reasons, but it boils down to too little time and too little money. I'm mostly retired now, except for doing what I consider an ultimate retired guy job--maintenance at one of the Fort Wayne-owned golf...

Re: Earthway S15 Sprayer Review

Sorry to bump such an old thread (and I don't know if Jeff from Earthway still visits here), but I wanted to add my two cents to the reviews here, since I used my S15 for the first time yesterday. First, especially with a completely full tank, pushing this thing is a workout--both upper and lower b...

Re: Dogs of ATY

Glad to announce that my lawn will once again be the recipient of dogorganite! As you know, our Winston, Cocker Spaniel died just before last Christmas, but we have adopted a mother doggie and her son from a local rescue. Maddie is a 2 1/2 year old coonhound/foxhound mix. The father of her 5 month-o...

Want to get your neighbor's attention? Blend Milo with Serenade and lots of water in a blender then spray on your lawn, this will get your neighbor's neighbor's neighbor's attention as well.
Oh yeah, on a blistering hot, humid day!

Re: Earthway S15 Sprayer Review

Thanks, Pway. I did email Earthway, and Jeff responded very quickly with an offer to send me a replacement pump. I am very pleased with Earthway's customer service. I also own a 2050P spreader, which I also love. Great people to do business with.

Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?

Last Sunday, actually, but I took advantage of the warm weather by cleaning up the lawn. 4 bags of leaves from the neighbor's trees, assorted Christmas wrapping and Amazon boxes from last week's windy recycling day, and scooped up the last Doggie-Organite our Cocker Spaniel will ever contribute. He ...

Thank you, Morph! Glad to see you back, and to be the beneficiary of your expert advice. Looks like a very doable plan; I look forward to beginning my soil supply shopping in a couple of months. Thanks again!

oze 2016 Soil Test Results

Hello, All It's been a long year--laid off for 3 months and unable to justify spending money on the lawn, then found a great job. Unfortunately, it involves being in the car for a 2:30 round trip commute, after which who feels like doing anything but picking up my guitar and a bourbon and playing th...

Hey Morph,

I'm not near my home computer much at all these days, but I will have some results to interpret later in this month or early next, if you are around. Thanks!

What Fungus Do I have? Wrong Question!

...at least in my lawn's case, the question should be, "What fungi do I have?". Earlier in the summer, I diagnosed an area (using this excellent site: http://turfdiseaseid.ncsu.edu/) as having a mild infestation of powdery mildew. No problem, I'll just up the Serenade apps and let the disease run it...

Re: 2016: What did you do to or on your lawn today?

Raised the HOC to the maximum that my mower goes: 4 1/4 inches, and the lawn looks great. I'm really happy with how well my NoMix blend stands up even at what must be >5" by the time I cut it, and the stripes from the Checkmate never looked better. Of course, the different species do not grow unifor...
