I use a Hound-Dog to poke those holes in the yard. It's a good work out.
Anyway, I'm overseeding next weekend. Would it hurt for me to start the prep, poking some holes this weekend?

Re: Can I overseed seed now?
It's been so mild this year, I really wasn't thinking of the heat. This is the first year in a long time that the lawn didn't go evan a little brown in the summer. I wanted to start now so I could use a pre-emergence in the middle of September to get chickweed under control. I guess I'm going to wai...

Killing grass in Blue rug juniper
Is there a good product for grass removal in Blue Rug Juniper? I used the Ortho 0.48% Fusilade, but that didn't work so well. It really didn't work at all!
Also, is there a -pre-emergence such as Preen that would work on shrubs like these?

Micro nutrients
I read some posts about adding micro nutrients to the lawn such as borax soap. Is there a tonic I can make for my lawn to supplement?

Re: Total Renovation and Divorce Court
What if, I were to let the grass grow a bit higher than normal, therefore, allowing for more compost. It may even smother some of the old grass, which, may allow for the new seedlings to dominate the turf in terms of percentage. The high grass will poke through, so it won't look so bad during the ov...

Let's put it this way: If I were to dig up the lawn in the AM, I better have the new sod laid down by dinner time.

State KBG recommendations
In regard to the blue grass recommended selections, how were those choices made? For example, the recommended mix for my state of NJ is, Award, Bedazzle, and Prosperity. Am I to assume they would do better than Midnight? I plan to overseed my mixed lawn next month. I don't irrigate, but the lawn doe...
