Those features are turned off. There are no immediate plans to turn them back on for anyone.

Re: Robot Mowers on cool season turf

Morph has been using a robot mower for years. He’s going to be the guy to listen to on this subject

Re: Winters with lots of rain: less snow?

Morph, the politics of all that aside (I tend to believe scientists over political people when it comes to established science), I think it will be interesting to watch migration patterns here in the U.S. over the next 30 years. Current trends have most folks moving south and along coastal areas. I’...

Not sure how active Andy and Morph are at this point in the season. Andy’s down in the Keys. But they’ll be your best source on this.

Re: Winter Moles

Well, assuming you have moles and not voles, you can try using a mole trap.

Re: What's happening where you live?

Cold here today too. But temperatures will be back in the 50s this coming week. As a kid in this area, we used to skate on the local pond most of the winter.

The temperature doesn’t stay cold around here long enough to make that even possible anymore.

Re: Moss. Moss. Moss.

Your soil ph question might be better posed in the soils and composting section. I’d question whether you are actually seeing moss. Impossible to tell from those pics. Most common explanation for such stripes is someone used a drop spreader for applying their late-season fertilizer. But you’d know b...

Re: What's happening where you live?

Typical year here so far. (Typical for last 10 years or so anyway) no snow so far. Our Winters don’t get cold until late January/early February.

Re: Winters with lots of rain: less snow?

That would be dependent on your local climate. I’d start by looking into historical weather patterns for your zip code. That should be your source of truth. Everything else will be speculation. https://www.wunderground.com/history This blog entry on the weather underground specifically discusses sno...

Re: Ok to treat fungus on St Augustine now? Blanco area

I know this. Granular fungicide won’t do the job on dormant grass. If you actually have fungus (looking at the blades of individual grass plants is the best way to know), you will need a liquid fungicide.

Re: Ok to treat fungus on St Augustine now? Blanco area

Take this for what it is worth. (I’m not a warm-season grass guy). What makes you think you have a fungal problem? Your lawn looks dormant to me. If you •have* to apply a fungicide, a granular product like disease-ex won’t cut it. You’re going to need to look for a liquid fungicide. if it were my la...

If it’s straight urea, proceed as normal. Air temperature isn’t as important as soil temperature.

Re: Weed ID and what to treat it

Assuming you are correct and it has runners… Probably a warm-season grass. If it turns brown in the Winter, it almost surely is one of these three Nimblewil, Zoysia or Bermuda. If it’s Nimblewil, Tenacity might do the job. But you can’t kill it once it goes dormant. You’ll have to wait until it gree...

Re: Need to water in fertilizer this time if year?

Wait to put the fertilizer down the day before rain.

Ideally, I’d not put fertilizer and Lyme down at the same time.
