Re: Voles?

That is similar to what I have found in my yard this year. Guess I need to start researching how to get rid of them.

Re: Anyone use a battery push mower?

Thanks, now that I have had some time to research, I am not reading much bad about the mowers as long as you get one that has the correct battery size for the size of lawn. I am going to talk to the guy I am buying from to see how long it takes him to mow.

Re: Dimension and Overseeding

Trying to word this so it doesn't sound like me questioning what you are doing, just trying to learn. I had thought the grassy weeds that deminsion fights typically germinate in the spring or fall. What are you attempting to stop that would have a germination time between June and August. I used to ...

Anyone use a battery push mower?

I am buying a small rental house for my daughter to live in while she is in college. Pretty small city lot with the back yard being around 10K square feet. I don't want to spend a fortune on a mower for a college house and thought one of the battery powered ones would be easier on them to operate. C...

Re: Voles?

I have what I think are some areas of damage from voles, they are basically like little tunnels and trenches in the grass in a distinct line. It is hard to tell from your pictures, but I get some areas like yours and they are caused by skunks. They will dig a series of small holes all over. Again I ...

Any major difference between acreage pro and Triplet?

The past several years I have been using Acreage Pro for my large yard, because of the price per acre. It works good and was relatively cheap. (I treat 4 acres). This year the price locally has gone from just over $40.00 a gallon for Acreage Pro to $88.00 a gallon. A local coop has Triplet in bulk a...

Re: Dry Pour Concrete

I was thinking the same thing. I had never heard of this until this week. I am planning to pour a small slab under my pool deck for my pump and sand filter to sit on. Like 4'x4'. I called a friend of mine who does concrete work as a side job and he said he has never done a slab that way but has used...

I've heard of it but not real familiar with it. Is it that effective?

Have a couple tree/shrubs I need ID'd

I am not good at all at ID's. I have several of these growing in my yard in random places. I would call them some type of shrub but not sure what they are truly classified as. They are very brush and have lots of runners etc, not just a main trunk. The pics aren't the best but the firs shot is of on...

Round up for lawns...

I think it has been around for a while but I saw a commercial from round up chemical that they advertise is safe for lawns. What caught my eye is the commercial says (as does the label) that it will kill crabgrass. I have not really heard of anyone on here mentioning it before and it is the only bro...

Re: Prodiamine vs dimension

Have you looked on Ebay by chance? I have bought a lot of stuff there like this. It is just a private person selling, boxing it up, and shipping. They are not likely going to care where they ship it to. You pay them for it and they will send it to you. When I had a smaller yard I used Dimension gran...

Re: Dimension Split App Confusion

At my old house where the yard was only one acre, I used dimension and really liked it. I would put it down in the spring and then again in the fall trying to stop the grasses that germinated in both seasons. I don't remember now (I haven't lived there since 2011) what the rates were but I put the s...

Re: Spring PreM with large fall overseed?

If it were me I would put down some prodiamine at a level that will wear off by August. If for some reason you don't overseed you can put another app of prodiamine down in the fall. If you do overseed then you should be good to go. My experience has been that the pre m does most of it's work against...

Re: Who all has put down Pre Emergent?

Thanks, we ended up getting pop up shower come through. Not sure how much rain but a decent soaking. Should be able to mow tomorrow sometime. I need to get caught back up, it's been a busy spring.

Re: Who all has put down Pre Emergent?

So as luck would have it my 60% chance of rain yesterday and 80% overnight and today turned into not a drop. I am due to mow and am curious if it is a bad idea to mow my lawn after spraying the prodiamine but before it gets rained in?

Re: 2023: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today (Cool Season)

Put down prodiamine on almost 4 acres of my lawn. Little later than I wanted but with this size yard I have to watch the weather and tomorrow night into Sunday are good chance of rain in my area. Been dry the last week and a 1/2 or so.

Re: Who all has put down Pre Emergent?

As of right now still calling for some rain tomorrow night and Sunday so I put my prodiamine down this evening. I use the dissolvable granules. I put down about 1 lbs per acre which shows just under 6 months of effectiveness. My experience has been it is usually a little less than advertised. I've p...

Re: 2023: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today (Cool Season)

Sharpened the blades, checked tire pressure, and greased my Ferris mower. Lawn is ready for the first mow but I’ve not had the free time in my schedule yet. Staring at my prodiamine waiting on a rain forecast.
