Re: Scotts DIY Program
Has anyone else noticed that a number of Scotts granular fertilizer products have switched from SOP to MOP this past year? Trying to determine whether their TurfBuilder products have different formulas based on the market channel (i.e. Costco vs. Home Depot vs. WalMart, etc.). Agree with previous po...

Re: Triclopyr to eliminate rust?
Thanks Andy. PM sent. Thanks Billy. I plan to do both. Milorganite has been going down regularly including last weekend at bag rate. I plan on starting urea next weekend. If rust is giving you trouble, why not just apply some N? Much cheaper than fungicides, more effective, and quicker. [ Post made ...

Re: Triclopyr to eliminate rust?
Serenade went down on the following dates and oz/M:
5/16/16 6.4
5/28/16 3.2
6/12/16 3.2
6/24/16 3.2
7/10/16 3.2
7/22/16 3.2
8/5/16 3.2
8/13/16 6.4
My source for Serenade was/is Amazon and their price has doubled since I purchased it. So, since mid-August, I have been using milk and Actinovate.

Triclopyr to eliminate rust?
I have a 1-year old KBG lawn (seeded 08/2015) that has struggled with rust most of the summer and, now, heading into Fall. It hasn't seemed to do any damage, but has been consistent even if the spots have changed locations over the course of the year. Wikipedia mentions that triclopyr controls rust ...

Re: Will KBG take over in a northern mix lawn in Wisconsin?
I feel your pain kbgfarmer. I have gone from NoMix at my last house to KBG at my current house. I definitely prefer lawns with a single variety of grass! @Andy10917 - What about applying Tenacity at 8oz/acre? Theoretically, isn't KBG suppose to handle that and wouldn't that stress/kill large amounts...

Re: Show us your Lawn
If you look past the patches of rust and the numerous weeds (Tenacity regimen starts next week), here is my front yard which was seeded 54-weeks ago yesterday: https://s3.postimg.cc/z9jtl6kpr/Front.jpg It seems like sprout-and-pout lasted until just last month, but thanks to the ST6 plan it is start...

Thanks osuturfman. I appreciate you taking the time to lay out what it would look like.osuturfman wrote:I think 4-5 lb N/M, even on elite cultivars, is too much. 4 lb N/M would be the upper limit, in my opinion.

Re: Fall Nitrogen Regimens
0.5 lb N/M app of a 50% slow release product around September 15th and I would be done. I would not put any K apps down after your first true frost. Do you still put down 4-5 #/K of N? What does that schedule look like? The stumbling block for me that would prevent me from even trying this approach...

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but this looks like the only time this particular mower has come up. Any update on how it worked? They are on clearance at Lowe's for $279.

Milorganite makes a different SKU for Maryland - a 36# bag of 6-4.5-0 has been the standard SKU there for a number of years. It is listed at http://www.milorganite.com/retailers/pr ... data-sheet.

Sienna Glen Maple changing colors, leaf spots
A neighbor has a Sienna Glen maple in his backyard (planted last year) that is changing colors and the leaves have brown spots on them. He is concerned there is something wrong. Any thoughts? Pic below... Apparently following ST6 recommendations for your lawn makes you the neighborhood green thumb. ...

Oops... I was assuming you were referencing #/K of Milorganite. So you are referring to N then... 240#/K of Milorganite?

Re: Manual Reel Mower on uneven / hilly lawn?
I have both the Fiskars Staysharp Plus and the Honda HRR216VKA. If I had to choose one mower to use exclusively, it would definitely be the Honda. Uneven/hilly terrain hasn't been an issue for me, but I have found that the higher my HOC the less "manicured" the final result looks. There is something...

Re: Grain screenings as fertilizer?
I would be paying about $0.20/# for the rabbit feed and $0.25/# for the chicken feed. That would put it in-between what I pay for cracked corn ($6 for 50# at Mills on sale - $.12/#) and alfalfa pellets ($12 for 40# at Blain's on sale - $0.30/#)... or more than Milorganite for that matter ($6 for 36#...
