Re: Weeping Cherry Tree
andy Several years ago it was thought the tree may have been struck by lightening. There was an opening on the trunk from just under the "umbrella" of the tree. It eventually healed over as shown in the picture with the arrows pointing to the healed scar. When I took the pictures this morning, I di...

Update on Weeping Cherry Tree.
Definitely is dead.

Neighbor will take the wood.

Tree never leafed...
Broke off a twig and it's still showing green.
Still hoping.... sigh

Re: Weeping Cherry Tree
Morph Thanks for sticking with me on this and giving me encouragement. :good: No issues with my flowering crab apple tree in the back yard. The lilacs are in bloom and my Japanese Maple is great. They've been showing off the last few days. :amen: Picture taken yesterday. https://i.postimg.cc/KkYcfV...

Re: Weeping Cherry Tree
Here's a close up of the tree branch. I don't see buds for leaves. :( We have not had any rain for a couple of weeks. Yesterday it was 80. Today low 80's. Monday morning the temp was 33. No rain until next week. My lawn really needs fertilizer now. I'm very discouraged with the kind of spring...

Re: Weeping Cherry Tree
Update on my tree.
I'm getting a little worried. Still has only tiny blossoms (like the above picture from april 26) which have all gone by now.
No green leaves happening.
I broke a twig to see if it was dead. It's still showing green.
I'm hoping for the best, preparing for the worst.

Re: 2022: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Did my 2nd mow for the year.
Spread lots of mulch and still have more to do.
I actually added pavers to keep the mulch in my backyard gardens.
This has been an on going issue.
Bought another bag of Milo for August's wake up call.
May buy another bag just because I can.

Re: Applying Prodiamine Revisited
Seeing I had a lot of winter weeds pop up this year.... I now have a question about applying Prodiamine. Last year I applied the whole-season coverage (1.0 Tablespoons per thousand square feet) in April. I didn't apply anything else in the fall. So I'm thinking I probably should have done something ...

Re: 2022: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Busy few weeks... This weekend (and last), I was spreading wood chips that cover much of the perimeter of my yard. I have the three dogs trained to use it for their business so the grass is doing well in back. It was about 30 yards of chip material, so I'm pooped. I also dropped milo at the bag rat...

Re: 2022: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Snow flurries yesterday.
Temp 29 with light frost this morning...
Tomorrow lots of rain predicted..... maybe.
I thought on Saturday that I may need to do a 1st mow Mon. or Tues.
Apparently I was wrong.

Weeping Cherry Tree
Anybody else having an issue with their Weeping Cherry Tree not doing well? I'm thinking the roller coaster temps we had so far may have damaged my tree. Today there are no blossoms and very few buds. I will take a picture tomorrow and upload it here. Last year it looked like this on April 13. https...

Re: Grubex yearly?
I just applied Grubex to my lawn today as expected rain later today and later tomorrow.
After that nothing substantial in sight.
I rely on Mother Nature to water in.
Hoping the weather people aren't wrong this time.
