Dropped milo and my 1st boron application.
That was painless.
Lightly watered it in.
Showers expected for the next 2 days.
Couldn't of timed it better.

Re: What did you do to or on your lawn today?
Mowed lawn.
First Shampoo application with hose end sprayer.
Looks like rain in a couple days.
I will then apply Milo and Boron which will be my Memorial Day Application.

Re: What did you do to or on your lawn today?
Yesterday I spot applied CCO on clover, chickweed, and violets. Much, much less of all 3 this year. Not to mention that yesterday I kept chasing a large rabbit out of my back yard which has a wooden fence in front and on the sides. Across the back is a wire mesh fence. The darn rabbit had spread so...

Re: What did you do to or on your lawn today?
Finally dropped Grubex :yahoo: The light misting ended this morning and with a breeze that was good enough to dry the grass out the rest of the day. Applied the grubex and lightly hosed it down. They have changed the forecast to drizzle tonight, rain tomorrow then clearing and cooler by Saturday mo...

Re: Stupid weather
GrubEx requires watering in. So - what's the problem with dropping it while raining? It has little pellets of AI that need to move into the soil and get down several inches to work - mother nature is helping you here. It says to apply on "dry" grass. However, I agree with you about dropping it when...

Re: Stupid weather
andy I have yet to drop grubex, and the "window" is closing for me to apply it. They expect heavy rain tomorrow night into Saturday. It is misting heavy at the moment, and according to the label, I need dry grass in order to even apply it. Would it really hurt the lawn at all if I did drop it now?

michael08124 I would be more concern about the EPA. If they found out about a spill, regardless of the amount spilled, It could cost you a whole lot of $$$ to rectify it. If it were me, and that happened on my property, I would get whoever made the spill... be responsible to clean it up ASA...

Re: What's going on with my brown dead grass?
I'm West of you, Hampshire County. My backyard took forever for the ice to melt away this spring and green up was slow, but it is starting to come around. I only dropped Scotts crabgrass preventer and milo at 1/2 bag rate to help it wake up. first picture was April 28, 2nd picture was yesterday. htt...

Re: What did you do to or on your lawn today?
Mulched mowed for the 2nd time mid afternoon. I had to wait for the grass to dry out first. A few minutes after I finished mowing the sky opened up with a deluge of rain. So the grass got a nice drink of water. I love it when it rains after I mowed. :good: I hope the SOP I dropped yesterday likes it...

Re: What did you do to or on your lawn today?
My local weather report yesterday said only light showers in my area today. Said it would be cloudy but mostly dry. So I figured my grubex will need to wait as well as the SOP. This morning I wake up and it's dry. Within 15 minutes it's pouring out. What did I do to my lawn today? At 5:45 AM...

Re: How do you ship your dirt
I must have done something wrong no way I could have shipped first class mail.
My 10 samples weighed more then 13 oz (first class postage limit)
that's why I had to go priority mail flat rate box.
I must have removed too much soil for the samples.

Re: How do you ship your dirt
Put the dirt in a zip lock bag and it should fit in a USPS small "flat rate" priority box . You should be able to get the box free at the post office. Cost is just shy of $6.00 to ship which includes delivery confirmation and insurance. ETA I had 10 samples of soil (front and back yard samples) that...

Re: Tips for Ridding Clover ?
Triclopyr gets blamed for lawn-burning unfairly. The most common thing I see is that people get used to the quick-kill that 2,4-D and three-ways perform, and put down Triclopyr and expect a 3-4 day kill. When it isn't burning the clover/ground-ivy/violets/chickweed after a week, they slam it again....

Re: fun4me2 soil test 2014
thanks andy At the moment, just taking one day at a time. Both my sister and I are retired nurses. She worked in ER, I in an oncology unit earlier in my career then changed to medical unit. I've been with her during her invasive tests. Another is scheduled for tomorrow. I'm actually finding that my ...

Re: fun4me2 soil test 2014
You can use the Milorganite as a carrier for the SOP if you want - Depending on the prill size of the SOP, it can work pretty well. Does for me, but the prill size does tend to vary quite a bit so check that first. If not, you can try your rotary spreader or hand spread. 1 lb/k gets tricky. Try to ...

Re: fun4me2 soil test 2014
mattya or andy I had a little down time and instead of riding around everywhere to find SOP, I just went on ebay and did find 30Lbs of SOP 0-0-50 granular by kelp4less. Should be here by Thursday. I know I need 40 lbs but maybe I can start with May and June's application. Stupid question, do I just...

Re: fun4me2 soil test 2014
mattya and andy I just found out that my sister has inoperable cancer. My "lawn time" will be limited at this time. At some point I will address the SOP but probably won't get the 4 applications in this year because I have not had the time to go look for it locally. I just didn't want both of you t...

Re: What did you do to or on your lawn today?
Admired how nice the front yard is coming along. In the backyard, pulled out 2 lonely clumps of what I like to refer to it as meadow grass that had seeds on it. :banghead: So far, I have not seen any others....so far :club: Oh, and the forsythia finally bloomed between 9-11 this morning. Looking out...

Re: What did you do to or on your lawn today?
late entry :D Yesterday I gave my peeping chickweed, clover, and the littlest wild violets, a little drink of CCO. In another 10-14 days I will give them and any other that dare to show there heads, a refill if necessary. :club: I was thinking that my early Halts drop this year would be ineffective,...
