Re: 2021: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?

3rd application of CCO. Hopefully that will take care of the explosion of chickweed I had this year. :club: Temps on some days will reach the high 80's in the next 10 days with "chance of showers or t-storm" Still waiting on that rain so I can drop my fertilizer. Nothing in sight until June. :banghe...

Re: 2021: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?

Mulched mow the yard. Looks like I will need another dose of weed killer. (already did 2) While mowing, the neighbor next to me and across the street from me... their dandelion seeds were floating in the air finding their way to my lawn. :banghead: This is the time of the year I look for the next ra...

Re: 2021: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?

Mowed yesterday. Last mowed 5 days ago.
My lawn seems to be slow getting started this spring.
It seems to me I am usually mowing more frequently.
Maybe because of the cool temps we've been getting....
having said that....I am starting to see seedheads.

Re: 2021: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?

Sprayed my 2nd application of CCO.
Just made the 14 day application, and 2 days after mowing, and the 6 hr. window ....
before the rain/showers which is forcast for the rest of the week.
We already have our water restriction (almost 3 weeks now) in place so I depend on Mother Nature.

Re: Who's vaccinated?

My 2nd Pfizer shot went well day 1. My shot was at 9 am. No problems all day.
However.....
2nd day I had nausea, chills, and every joint and muscle
in my body ached all day. Just used a heating pad and took some ibuprofen.
No fatigue, fever or headache.
3rd day felt back to normal.

Re: 2021: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?

Applied Grubex yesterday. Weather rain forecast changed after I dropped it (of course). Hopefully we'll get at least 1/4" before it's done. Not an elite grass but doing pretty good so far after my overseed and fertilizer in these 3 areas last fall. https://i.postimg.cc/VSvf4PWs/2021-april-23-...

Re: 2021: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?

Did my first mow!
Was going to drop Grubex tomorrow but the forecast is about 1/2" of rain (T-storm) in a short period of time.
Sunday looks like a better forecast for a more gentle rain. :good:

Re: 2021: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?

Sprayed CCO on weeds.
Front lawn is looking great.
Looks like my first mow will be tomorrow (Tuesday).
Back lawn.... not quite ready for its first trim.
Squirrels are having a grand old time digging holes in the back. :banghead:
There goes my Prodiamine barrier application. (sigh)

Re: Who's vaccinated?

I'm getting the Pfizer one. First shot went well. Had a little bit of a "foggy" feeling in my head for a few days. I'm hearing most side affects from others (my age bracket 65+) 2nd shot of Pfizer is fatigue for a day. Some nothing at all. The younger ones are getting the chills and temps for a day ...

Re: 2021: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?

Applied Prodiamine. Deceided to do front and back yard (5,000 sf).
Used Mark it Blue. Hardly saw the blue at all. Not impressed with the stuff. :nea:

Re: Need some clarification....

Do it separately and spot spray with the CCO; there's no need or reason to blanket spray the entire lawn, stress the poor thing, and overapply an herbicide. CCO can also sit in the sprayer for a very long time. When I find out how long, I'll let you know. My tank is turning 3 this year, still works...

Re: Need some clarification....

Forsythia popped today. Did the dry run with my pump sprayer and water to cover 2,500 sq. ft. It took 2 gals. I'll premix in 5 gal bucket and add the blue dye to each gallon. I'm hoping the blue is dark enough that I can see it. I thought late in the day may be better visual. Forecast say...

Re: Need some clarification....

Sure, no problem, as long as you know the water volume and how much is going in the pump at any one time to cover a given area. Mixed Prodiamine is certainly going to be good for a couple-three days no matter what's up with your water, absolute minimum. I do this with ferrous sulfate all the time; ...

Re: Where is the Forsythia Line?

so......... it looks like the forsythia's are going to pop this week in my neck of the woods. of course no rain in sight (sigh) I didn't apply the Prodiamine 65 wdg (I bought for the 1st time ever) when we had rain last week...of course  why? because I was waiting for the darn ground to warm ...

Re: Need some clarification....

Morph Can I mix the Prodiamine I will need in a 5 gallon bucket then put it in my spray pump as I go along? I would then add the blue marker for each gal I apply. When the winds ease up, I plan on doing a dry run with my pump sprayer and just water to see how much water I will need to cover 2,500 s...

Re: Need some clarification....

Morph I appreciate your reply. Like your "Mr. Knee issue", I have a Ms Back issue (retired nurse here) that sings to me even when I only use the 1 gallon pump sprayer. It's the bending over to see better that zings me. Hence the reason I'm thinking the blue tracker dye this year. Not planning to res...
