Re: Sewage bill tied to water usage. Drill my own well?
That's what I'm hoping for, that is, the high water table. From what I've read its hit and miss though. I'll try in multiple places if needed. Property is only half an acre though so I'm somewhat limited in that aspect.

Re: Welcome to College Football Season!!
Penn State could actually get a real bowl game this year. I'll never forget a few years back when they got the Radio City Bowl game or something like that, and the players complained about it and then got beat bad by Houston.

Mowed last night and checked this morning...no clippings. And that was the first mow in a week. So, dropped urea this morning and within in an hour the rains came although soon to be snow!!! Was it timed perfectly? I'll never know but it's down now and getting watered in.

Re: Sewage bill tied to water usage. Drill my own well?
this idea is very dependent on a very high water table and a sandy sub soil that is easy to drill into. Some aquifers can be 1000+ ft down. Also the source needs to handle potentially thousands of gallons at a time without running dry. A lot of ifs on a thing that is pretty crucial in turf grass. [...

Re: Sewage bill tied to water usage. Drill my own well?
HLG,
Never thought about just having a hole drilled and then finishing it myself. I've been in contact with a gentleman from emergency water wells and I like his system. They have a large bore system that will accommodate a submersible pump. Link below.

Re: Sewage bill tied to water usage. Drill my own well?
As noted above no deduct meters allowed. I doubt I'll be able to drill, but I've got a hidden area on the property where I will self drill next year. It's my only option.

Re: Sewage bill tied to water usage. Drill my own well?
I talked to ou r city and basically as long as the well was a certain depth or less there was no problem with local codes as I recall. In my case I knew from well records, the adjacent lakes water level, and my own experience with water levels rising above my basement and water seeping into post ho...

Re: Sewage bill tied to water usage. Drill my own well?
I've thought about an irrigation well but I'm thinking the borough probably doesn't allow that. I will look into it though. Otherwise, I'm still considering drilling my own. It looks very doable the more I research.

Re: Sewage bill tied to water usage. Drill my own well?
As in my title, the sewage bill is tied to the water usage. The water co. forwards the usage to the sewage company. The two bills are nearly identical. I know I used a lot of water. It's the fact that I am paying increased sewage bills for water that was not treated.

Before the first frost. My last one was two weeks ago. I'm rain dependent due to no real irrigation.

Re: Fall Nitrogen Regimens
First year with this approach. Got four apps in before the first frost. It definitely thickened and greened up. I probably went under the recommended application rate as this is my first year with my earthway spreader and I'm still getting to know it. https://s11.postimg.cc/dahlqxxan/IMG_0999.jpg [ ...

Re: Does anyone here use Cricket Wireless?
I've been using Cricket for a little over a year. I downgraded to their new $30 plan which is meant to compete with Google's Project Fi. The service has been excellent. It's owned by AT&T now. (Leap wireless is the parent company of cricket, AT&T bought Leap.) [ Post made via iPhone ] http://aroundt...

Thanks for that. City water ends just a few houses down from us. I will ask.

Re: Sewage bill tied to water usage. Drill my own well?
My sewage bill doubled......I watered my lawn more than I thought. It was a hot, dry summer. I feel your pain Doesn't that bother you since the water on your lawn wasn't treated. I made that argument to the person in charge of the sewage authority and it fell on deaf ears. Her actual comment to me ...

Sewage bill tied to water usage. Drill my own well?
As my title states, my sewage bill is tied to my water bill. And, my local borough is basically telling me there is nothing I can do about it. I don't like paying for a service that isn't actually being rendered. I am being told by them and the water company that I do not have an option for a deduct...

Not great lighting but https://s14.postimg.cc/if1efu931/IMG_0965.jpg It turned out well. Definitely thickened it up. I do have lots of annua and triv but as I've posted before, it doesn't bother me that much. [ Post made via iPhone ] http://aroundtheyard.com/forums2/images/mobile/iPhone.png

Put down urea in the rain this morning. Taped a garbage bag over the 2170 and hauled a** around the yard.
