Re: Goodbye, July!!

Excellent for me, my Bewitched never looked so good. I kept it at 3 inches all month. I would have rather 2.5 inches, but thought 3 inches would be better due to the high temperatures we had. I think I used the irrigation system twice since we had well timed thunderstorms each week that dropped over...

Prodiamine and spot seeding

Just a quick question regarding spot seeding and using Prodiamine. I have some areas I need to re seed in a couple of weeks due to some damage from some trucks when I had some big Pines taking down. My plan is to re seed those areas on August 10th and then the following week (August 17) spray the en...

Re: Ken-n-Nancy's 2018 Front Lawn Renovation - "War on Triv"

Looking good Ken-n-Nancy, Bewitched is a great Cultivar, and so glad I renovated back in 2016. A also agree with the Poa Annua, just pull it out when you see it. I have had to fill in some areas where I pulled out so much, it left a slight depression in the lawn, so I just fill it in with a Compost/...

Re: Bewitched monostand during high heat

Bewitched is amazing as far as I'm concerned, very drought tolerant and can take the heat. I'm still mowing twice a week. My Brother has a Bewitched Mono-stand and has yet to water this year and looks excellent. He has had weekly thunderstorms with at least an inch of rain each week.

Re: Summer Dormancy: What's Your Situation?

I really don't see a difference in my lawn from what it looked like in May and June. It's still as green and still grows just as fast (Bewitched is a slow grower compared to my previous lawn, but I still mow twice a week). I will not fertilize in July and most likely will give it a shot of Milo mid ...

Re: Post your mow!

You don’t even have any issues along the sidewalk or driveway burning up the grass. It that irrigated? Yes, I have an irrigation system. Never had an issue with the grass browning near the asphalt. I have an 18 inch strip between the sidewalk and street, and that never has an issue either. I do hav...

Re: Water frequency

I water once a week and only watered twice this season. One of the reasons I chose Bewitched is that it ranked high for drought tolerance. I still mow twice a week, but maybe I could get away with once a week now. I helped by brother renovate his lawn two years ago to a Bewitched monostand and he ha...

New blades out of the box are not sharp. They need to be filed so you can cut paper with them. Not sure if this is your problem or not?

Did you see if Tenacity would kill it? It's amazing what Tenacity takes out if applied correctly. Not sure if it's Triv from the picture.

Re: Reseeding after pre-emergent

You can just rough up the surface with a steel rake, you just need to disturb the barrier. Why not just wait until mid august? You would have much better success than trying to grow grass in July. I know it doesn't look good, but what happens if more Triv comes up in the next several weeks? If it do...

Pre emergents

I asked this question before but didn't get any replies, so I'll ask again. I have a questions on max rates of Dimension and Barricade per year. Dimension states a max yearly limit of 11.5 pounds/1K sqft, and Barricade states a max yearly limit of 4.7 pounds/1K sqft. Since the active ingredient is d...

Re: Tell us about your experiences helping neighbors

99% of people don't want to spend anytime outside, never mind working in the yard. I never see any of my neighbors outside on a nice day. Most have lawn services and the ones that do mow their own grass use tractors that are sized too big for the size of their lawn. None of them trim or blow off the...

Re: 2019: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?

Finally kicked the irrigation system into gear - latest ever. Still haven't used irrigation system yet this year. This is the latest ever. If we don't get rain by Thursday, it's going on Friday morning. I really want to follow the weekly, 1 inch rule this year. I truly believe some of the grassy we...

Re: Is this Poa Trivialis

Please remind me the time to wait between apps. Thanks! Depends on what program your doing. I did a 4 app program, 3.2 ounce, two week total. Basically I did a Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, and Wednesday program. I need to re seed some areas in August so I need to use Tenacity at seeding, and that's...

Re: Seed to soil contact after killing off existing turf

I have had a Bewitched mono stand since the fall of 2016. The first year I had some small issues with rust but last year I have had no issues at all. I apply Serenade every two weeks from the end of May to mid September. I would highly recommend it. I could easily mow weekly if I wanted to.

Does it look sort of like KBG, but have a longer, sharper ligule and slightly pointer boat-shaped tip? If so, yes. And of course worse color.
I would say it looks nothing like KBG, It's stalky, and grows at an angle. It's all white, but probably wont die. The Poa Annua is dying.
