Re: Seed selection help
I should have added this. Does one want PR in a non-irrigiated turf situation?

Seed selection help
I have a section of the lawn that didn't do well in the last drought. It pretty much looks dead. Anyway, I'm thinking of adding some topsoil to even things out, and seeding next spring. It's on a hill with plenty of rocks underneath. I need a blend that will do really well surviving hot-dry spells a...

Re: Rose of Sharon Seeds Pesky
I was cleaning my garden stuff and saw tomato blossom spray. No seeds, sterile tomatoes, which got me thinking, if there was a hormone spray that worked on the hibiscus family, the seeds would be no problem.

Rose of Sharon Seeds Pesky
Love the plant but hate the seeds. Anyone ever hear of a plant hormone that would render the seeds of Rose of Sharon sterile? Very pesky to control those buggers!

Re: KBG near the road dies every year
Would working plenty of OM in the hot zones help hold moisture? How about using vermiculite?

Interpretation of NTEP results help

Re: Bullseye replacement for northern mix?
Too bad they didn't measure actual width of the cultivars and gave an average in the NTEP test plots instead of the groupings reported of wide, medium, or narrow? It would be interesting to compare Firecracker to Regenerate for example with real numbers.

Bullseye replacement for northern mix?
Well with Bullseye gone I am looking for a good replacement? Something with a more narrow leaf width for an overseed.
Any ideas?

Too bad. I wonder what the number is that makes a cultivar viable in terms of seed production?

Re: Weeds in Junipers
This is one of those odd situations where you ask a question that no one knows the answer to, so you have to answer it yourself! Apparently WBG will kill clovers that are growing in/around junipers without hurting the junipers. I decided to try this because it had gotten so bad, I figured I wasn't ...

Re: Is any particular type of grass darker than the rest (all else being equal)?
If it's a thicker blade and extremely dark in color, it very well could be KBG. Andy has shown how dark Emblem is. Even Midnight is pretty dark (and has a thicker blade compared to, say, the latest PR cultivars). But I've found that the latest PR is pretty darn dark compared to most anything else t...

Removing green seed coating from skin?
Any tips to remove the green? Some seed got on my wet leg and now there is a nice green color. Lol. Too early for Halloween!
